Rimmel Scandaleyes Lycra Flex Mascara Review ♥

A product that no woman can ever be without is I think, the mascara. Even when it's one of those mornings where you simply cannot be bothered to put makeup on and you'd rather just stay in bed, a little dash of mascara on my lashes will always make me look more me and a little less zombie.

So a product I've been dying to blog about lately is my new Scandal Eyes Lycra Flex Mascara from Rimmel. I actually got this as a free gift if I spent over £10 on any Rimmel product but since using it I've been completely blown away and I'm annoyed I didn't buy it before.

This was just to try and compare the size of the brush. It's against the Maybelline Colossal Mascara.

Just one coat.

What Rimmel Says: "Lycra Technology formula makes lashes look full and voluptuous while remaining soft"
I have to completely agree with this as it's very weightless and you can hardly feel it on your lashes.

As I've mentioned in previous blogs, I do personally prefer the bigger, chunkier brushes as I think they give my lashes more oomph and this mascara really does prove my point. It's perfect for volumising, lifting, lengthening and really does open my eyes up. It lasted all day and didn't leave me with any "panda eye" smudges.

The only bad thing I could say about it is that after a few coats it does start to get clumpy but I honestly think that it doesn't need anymore than one or two coats.

I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new mascara. It retails for £6.99 which is a bargain and really acceptable for the quality of the mascara. I will definitely be buying more when mine runs out.

Poundland, B&M & Superdrug Haul ♥♥

It's been a while since I last blogged anything, blame busy work schedules and a new gym membership, so I decided that as soon as payday came around, I would get out there and spend some dough!

First shop I went into was Poundland and as soon as I walked in, the Stila makeup box caught my eye. Although it was only a refill pack, I'll be able to leave it in the plastic and still use it and for £1, it was a bargain. Next thing I picked up was the two pack of So...? lip balms. Since the weathers started to get colder, I've been obsessed with lip balms and glosses and making sure my lips always stay moisturised so on top of that and the fact they were vanilla and black cherry scented, you can understand why they were a definite yes for me. Lastly in Poundland was the Calvin Klein eye shadows in Sage Shimmer and Vinyl Black. This was mostly an impulse buy as I don't tend to wear much eye shadow, but since they were in shades I'd probably pick for myself anyway, I thought why not!

So...? lip balm, Stilla Foundation refill & 2 Calvin Klein eyeshadow pots

2 Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro, Collection Gothic Glam lipstick, MUA shimmer highlighter, 2 Rimmel Gloss Lip Liner & MUA Prime & Concealer
The next shop I visited was B&M and the first thing that went in my basket was two Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro nail polishes in Dessert Rose and Midnight Blue. These were the only colours they had so as they were only £1, I'm gutted I couldn't get more. But as I was searching for more of the polishes, I noticed the Rimmel Gloss lip liners in shades Moreish and Sorbet. Once again, only 99p and a bargain for the two.

And the last shop I went into was Superdrug. I sadly find it hard to go shopping in any of my local shopping centres without visiting a Superdrug, just incase they have any new products or they have something I love on offer so it wasn't a surprise that the first I did buy was something new, a lipstick from Collection. They have recently brought out a new collection called Gothic Glam which includes 3 new lipsticks and 4 nail varnishes. Because I'd already picked up two new nail varnishes, I decided to go for a lipstick. As it's called Gothic Glam, all colours are dark and intense but I finally decided on Seduction which I think was the lightest red.

After picking my lipstick, I headed over to the MUA stand (of course) and decided to buy the Shimmer highlighter from the Undress Your Skin collection and the Prime & Conceal colour correcter. Both items I've heard nothing but good things about and since I didn't really have anything similar at home, I popped them in my basket.

I'm very excited to try all of these :)

Just another haul from Primark ♥♥

Since my beautiful car passed it's MOT and I no longer had to save any money towards it, I decided I would go and treat myself with a trip to Primark and since it's Christmas party season, there was lots of gorgeous dresses to try on.

 Two bags full of goodies!

Hair grip - £1.50, Disney socks - £2.50 each, Tights - £3.50, Necklace - £3

First off are my little extras! I'd seen the disney socks on Primark's instagram and fell in love with them straight away. There was a few different ones to pick from but I ended up going with a cartoon strip style Cinderella and The Little Mermaid pair. While I was in the sock/tights section, I remembered a Zoella video on her youtube channel where she did a Primark haul and mentioned the Super Cosy tights and how good they were so since it's getting so cold outside, I thought I would give them a go. Next is my big bling spike necklace. This was actually in the sale for £3! And lastly is my little bump hair grip. I've seen these being used in different hair styles and I wanted to attempt them myself!

I'm not really sure why I'm putting a picture of my new underwear on the internet but they're so adorable I had to add them to the post. Cute little set for only £4!

 Top - £4

I had brought a similar vest top to this which I did include in another blog post but I ended up selling that on ebay but as soon as I saw the print on this top, I knew I had to have it. I thought it would look perfect with a skater skirt or just on it's own.

Finally I have a leather skater skirt! I have been looking forever for one in my size and finally Primark delivered. I saw that New Look had theirs on offer for £10 but I thought I'd have a look around Primark first and that's when I spotted one for £8! I'm not sure how long it'll last compared to other high street shops but I honestly don't think I'll wear it that much to wreck it.

As if Primark prices aren't good enough, it's even better when they have items in the sale. I brought both of these skater skirts in the sale for £3 each! I tried the black one on a couple of weeks ago but I decided not to buy it which I'm now extremely glad of as I just saved myself £5!

Another bargain I found in the sale is this beautiful beige cable knit jumper dress, £14 down to £5! :)

MUA Luxe Precision Felt Eyeliner Review ♥

Another product out of the new Luxe collection that I wanted to try, was the new Precision Felt Eyeliner. When I first came across MUA, I did try their normal felt eyeliner which I liked so I was expecting good things from the LUXE version.

 What MUA says:

"For dramatic or natural eyes, try MUa Luxe Precision Felt Liner- the intense black formula and precision brush allows you to create various effects from subtle definition to big and bold."

The package made it feel expensive and I loved how the box also gave easy instructions on how to get different looks from a subtle line to be and bold eyes which is always helpful to whose who are a little afraid of the felt eyeliners.

For the first time, in a very long time I might add, I was able to do perfect flicks on both of my eyes on the very first attempt with this pen so for that alone, I love it. It did smudge a little after a few hours so I think for in the day or work, it's still a perfect eyeliner. I would definitely buy this again and for £3, it's not exactly going to break the bank.

yay 50th blog post! :)

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Funk & Reckless ♥

Once again, another MUA post!
When I heard that MUA was releasing a new luxury make up collection, lets say being excited was an understatement. As I've said in previous blog posts, I LOVE MUA. I think the quality of the products for the price you pay is amazing and could even beat many other high street brands. Most of my daily makeup nowadays is mainly MUA products and I will also recommend them to anyone looking for new makeup.

When the release date finally came around and I knew they were out in the shops, I headed to my local Superdrug to purchase as much as possible. Every time I've been into a Superdrug, all the MUA stands seem to be half stocked and always have at least one person looking at their stand so to find nearly all of the Luxe range available surprised me quite a lot. I managed to pick up two Lip Lacquers, Funk & Reckless and then a felt eyeliner, which I will review separately.

What MUA says:

"Smooch your way to red carpet glamour with MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers. Long - lasting and kiss proof, these intense formulas come in five rich, vampy shades. Encased in chic frosted glass packaging, these lacquers glide on with the ease of a gloss, drying in seconds into a matte velvety texture. They are the ultimate make-up bag must have."

Not a very good picture because of the lighting.

I decided to try Funk first which is a bright fuchsia pink colour, not my usual choice but I have to say, when applied I did fall in love with it. Reckless is more a classic red but with a dark vampy twist and I have to say it's my favourite out of the two. I found when applying the lacquer, that you have to be quick and precise because within seconds, it had dried onto my lips and stained where I had tried to rub it off.
To test out the product properly though, I decided to wear it to work. The first thing anybody said to me when they walked in was how amazing it looked and how much they wanted to go out and buy themselves one, so that was a good start to the day. Unfortunately that's where it goes down hill a little for me. I noticed after having a drink and moving my lips a bit, the lacquer was starting to crumble a little on the inside of my lips. Because of the matte texture as well, I found my lips were quite dry and felt like they needed gloss or balm to put over the top.

I did like the colours but I think the crumbling and the uncomfortable dry feeling has put me off wearing them again. I think for £3 each, it's alot of money when you compare them to the MUA matte lipsticks which for only £1 each, I have to say I'd much prefer to wear them.

Time for more bargains: 99p store Haul! ♥

Since I was off work last week and I had some time on my hands, I decided to go out and do the most girly thing possible, shopping. As I needed to pop to the bank, I thought I'd go to my local shopping centre which just so conveniently has a B&M, Poundland, Home Bargains AND a 99p Store, how amazing. Since I've recently been buying a lot of things from the other shops, I thought I'd give 99p Store a chance.

£16 later, I sort of regret that.

First off I brought the Tea Tree facial wipes and the foaming face wash. For someone who suffers with oily skin I find tea tree to be one of those must have products and since the face wash was £2.99 in Superdrug, I knew I just had to have them just for the price if anything else. Next was the Balance Snake Venom face scrub. This is actually one of the products I was going to buy when I last made an order from Fragrance Direct but the idea of snake venom scared me a little so I never brought it but since it was in the store, I thought go for it! Lastly, I brought the Schwartzkopf Palette mousse in colour 600 blond inchis. I'm not sure if this really is the right colour for me but they only had the one shade and I do really love the mousse hair colours. It's amazing to apply and I always feel like I've got all my hair covered so for 99p I was happy to try it.

The next lot I brought was the Neutrogena Intense Care hand treatment. In the winter months, my hands go really dry and I always like to keep a little bottle in my handbag for when I'm out and this little 15ml tube is perfect for that. The next thing I saw was the Garnier light gentle clarifying foam, ANOTHER face wash yes, and it wasn't til I got to the til when I realised it was on 59p! Bargain. The next thing surprised me because every time I've been into the 99p store, they've never had any brand makeup so as soon as I saw this it went straight in my basket. It's the Maybelline MNY nail polish in shade 757 which is a shimmery khaki colour which actually looks much better on than in the bottle. Lastly was the Claudia Stevens Skin toning stick. I've never heard of this brand so I'm not sure if it's any good but since I was running out of my toner at home I thought I would give it a go. It also had a serum option but I thought I'd try the stick.

In the end, I wouldn't say the 99p Store is as good as Poundland or B&M but I was still quite impressed with everything that I got and I will definitely be going in again sometime soon!
