The British Tag!

08 January 2015

Hello!

Another blog that I've seen circulating around for a while and since I'm British, why not give it a go?

How many cups of tea do you have a day? How many sugars?
I’m failing at the first hurdle here because I hate tea! I’m not a fan of any hot drink really but tea is definitely the worst. The smell is horrible and I can’t understand how so many people love it! Give me a glass of squash any day!

Favourite part of the roast?
Ooh, tough decision but if I had to choose it has to be the Yorkshires. I love them but I’m really fussy with them. I hate when people cover them in gravy and make them soggy. Yuk! So instead I have mine separate so they’re still nice and crispy.

Favourite dunking biscuit?
Chocolate digestive, definitely. Even though I don’t drink tea, I still used to dunk my biscuit into my apple juice when I was younger. Yes, it sounds gross but it’s delicious!

Favourite quintessentially British past-time?
Well drinking copious amounts of tea comes to mind but since I don’t do that, maybe reading? I love sitting down with a good book on a boring afternoon.

Favourite British word?
Spiffing. I don’t think I’ve ever used the word in a sentence but it’s probably the first thing that comes to mind for a British word. Plus it sounds very funny.

Cockney rhyming slang?
I don’t really know much Cockney slang as I come from Birmingham but Hank Marvin is one that I’ve said a few times in the past.

Favourite British sweet?
In my local town centre there’s a little old fashioned sweet shop called Teddy Gray’s and they still stock all the tradition sweets like teddy bears, toffee caramel and pear drops but my all-time favourite was something called cherry rock. It was small pieces of cut up cherry flavoured rock and every time we went shopping up that town centre when I was little, I would beg my mom for a bag! Oh the memories.

What would your pub be called?
The Royal Oak. Only because there’s so many other pubs around where I live called that and it just sounds like such a typical British pub name.

No. 1 British person?
The Queen? Other than that I had a MASSIVE crush on Orlando Bloom when I was younger so definitely him!

Favourite shop/ restaurant?
My favourite shop is definitely Primark (obviously) and my favourite restaurant is Chiquitos. Very English!

What's the first British song that pops into your head?
The Beatles – Yellow Submarine. Can you seriously get any more British than the Beatles?

Marmite- love or hate?
100% hate, how can anyone want to eat that?

Feel free to take the tag for yourself over on your own blogs!
