My First Little Box: My Little Frenchie Box

27 February 2015

After a few months of being unsure about continuing my subscription to Glossybox, I finally decided to take action and scout around and see what other monthly subscription were available! Although I did say I enjoyed the last two Glossyboxes, I'm always a little unsure on a few of their products or if I'm going to like the next box at all and I know that's the idea of these sorts of boxes, but I just think that maybe it's £10 I could be spending better somewhere else.

After doing a bit of research though I decided on trying out The Little Box subscription and a few weeks back there was a special 10% off offer on their My Little App so of course I couldn't say no to ordering! After about 2 weeks my parcel finally came and I couldn't wait to get home and rip it open to see all my goodies.

As soon as I opened the package and saw that I'd got the Frenchie box, I couldn't believe how lucky I was. Since visiting Paris last year, I've become a little obsessed with all things Paris! When opening the box itself, you're first greeted with cute little cards and magazine explaining what's in this months box and why. Underneath that were two small boxes and a fabric drawstring bag containing my make-up goodies.

In the first box was a cute little pot full of inspirational quotes made to help you through your day. Each little quote was rolled up The next box contained probably my most favourite part of this box, a smart phone case. My Little Box has teamed up with Ines de la Fressange (don't worry, I'd have no idea either if it wasn't for the handy info card included in the box!) to create this cute mini pouch where you can keep your bank cards, tickets as well as your mobile. This will be so handy when I go to the gym as I can slot my gym membership card in the pocket as well as my phone and iPod!

Next in my box was the drawstring bag which contained my 4 beauty goodies. Now Glossy box are all about their beauty products so I was wondering if My Little Box could compare and really I think they did.
First up was the My Little Beauty Embellisseur which apparently provides a light face tint for girls who are on-the-go. The anti-oxidant rich edelweiss extracts will protect skin and leave it feeling soft and smooth, so really what more could you want? Next in the bag was the L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper. I really enjoyed using the gel formula products for my eye brows so I was quite pleased to see I could add another one to my collection. I quickly gave it a test when I opened the box and I was really impressed with how amazing it made my brows look!

One of "those" products that I've always wanted but never brought was next in my box so I really couldn't believe my luck when I opened it up and it was sat there staring at me! As sad as it sounds, it was a box of oil blotting paper! Every girls needs this from time to time and mine is definitely after a gruelling shift at work. These will be going straight into my handbag for tomorrow so thank you so much My Little Box! Last product is the By Terry Kohl eye pencil in Bronze Generation - Ooooh. At first I thought it was a simple bronze eye pencil, but it's actually black with gold glitter. Personally although I think it's absolutely fab, I don't think I'll wear it but it's always great to keep for any special nights out!
Apart from the box being themed around Ines de la Fressange and there being a few French colour I'd have preferred more French products to be included in this box but maybe I'm just comparing it to the Stars and Stripes Glossybox back in July last year where all products were from the USA. Either way I liked the box but I'm still undecided on Glossybox. Maybe next month?
What do you think about the My Little Frenchie Box?

Re-Discovered Products February 2015

26 February 2015

As most girls can agree, we like to shop. A LOT! It doesn't matter if it's for new shoes or a new lipstick, we love to go out and splash the cash (even though we have no cash to start with!) Sometimes though when we go shopping we like to buy things that we actually end up forgetting we ever brought and will normally let them fall to the back of our make-up collection never to be seen again. That is until you realise you actually have no room left to put anything so you decide to have a sort out and re-discover them again! It's an endless cycle!

Now a few of these I've actually wrote reviews when I first brought them but since I haven't used them in so long, I still felt like I could include them in this post!

rediscovered products

Rimmel Bronze Powder Blush
A new one for the blog with this and I completely forgot I even had it. I think I brought it a few years ago but I never even opened it from it's plastic wrapping! Instead of throwing it away, I thought I would open it and give it a go and I've found that I really enjoy it. It's perfect for work when I want to make an little effort but not look over the top! It can give a nice subtle glow to my cheeks but can also be built up for a bolder look. Perfect little bronzer!

Seventeen Stay Time 25 Hour Foundation | Review post here
I remember that when I first reviewed this foundation although I really enjoyed it, I did complain about it feeling a little too thick on my skin. Since starting the gym again though, I found that I needed a foundation with long lasting power and this is the foundation that obviously came to mind first. I'm really loving this foundation at the moment and I've found that even on a weekend I will find myself grabbing for it instead of my normal Rimmel foundation. I definitely will be buying another bottle when it's empty!

Make-up Revolution The Matte Effect Foundation
Another new product and one I'm actually going to be writing a separate blog post for soon! On one of my shopping trips to Superdrug I decided to buy a handful of different Makeup Revolution products to try since they're all so cheap! I was really unsure when I first brought as there weren't any samples to test in Superdrug so I just went with Natural and hoped for the best. The formula is quite watery but it dries nicely when applied to my face. I'm not too sure on the "matte effect" part but it still covers my skin without looking too obvious and once again it's great for work or when I'm out and about in the day. Not bad for £2!

MUA Matte Lipstick Fawn Fancy | Review post here
I love MUA and as soon as they announced that they were releasing a matte lipstick collection, I knew I had to have them all. And I did! I can say hands down every one of these shades are my favourite lipsticks out of everything I own. When I first brought them, I wore all of them non-stop and each shade seemed to go perfectly for whatever occasion I had coming up. After the first initial 5 shades were released though, MUA then released another 2; another brown nude shade and a pale lilac. I went with Fawn Fancy and it's absolutely gorgeous! I'm actually annoyed with myself for forgetting about it in the first place!

Wilkinsons Prime of Your Life Primer | Review post here
I have admitted that I'm normally the worst when it comes to priming and moisturisng my face in the morning but I'm normally too much in a rush getting for work to waste vital minutes applying various different creams! Bad excuse I know! Since doing my little clear out though, I have made a massive effort to try and spare a bit of time to prime my face before applyiing my make-up and I've really noticed a difference. Normally my make-up won't last through half a day but now it can last until at least the late afternoon which for someone who has oily skin, is a win. Trust me!

Is there any products you re-discovered recently?

Tag Tuesday | The Wanderlust Tag!

24 February 2015

Another Tag Tuesday and this one in the form of The Wanderlust Tag! I can't remember where I got this from so apologies to whoever you are! Once again I don't tag people, if you like the tag just take it for your own blog!

01. Where was your first plane to?
Spain woo!  I think I was about 8/9 and we went in the six weeks holiday so I actually got to spend my birthday over in Spain. I thought it was such a magical experience being on a plane although my mom did ruin it a little when she kept shouting at me to not look through the window and not talk to her. Nervous flyers ay!

02. You're leaving tomorrow; money is no object, where are you going?
America! I’d love to do a road trip over the whole of USA. There’s so many places I’d love to visit and the cost alone would be amazingly high so it really would be a once in a lifetime opportunity!

03. Are you a repeat visitor or do you explore new places?
Yes and no. I love exploring new countries but there are a few places I’d love to go back to. I don’t think I could ever be one of those people who always book for the exact same holiday for example my Nan and Granddad always book to go to Benidorm every January for 6 weeks. EVERY YEAR!

04. Hostel or Hotel?
I’ve never stayed in a hostel and I do admit I do love a luxury hotel but if I did ever travel the world or even a country, I’d definitely be up for spending a night in a hostel just to save a few pennies.

05. Where would you travel just to eat the food?
Italy. I love my pasta and pizza!

06. Airplane essentials and how do you pass the time?
The longest flight I’ve ever been on was around 2 hours so I’m normally okay with my 3DS and my iPod. I do like to have a good natter on the flight as well but normally it’s too loud to talk.

07. Is there a place you would never go again?
To be honest, not really. I’ve enjoyed all of my holidays and I’d happily go back to any of them.

08. Your top 3 travel items?
My camera, my iPod and my sunglasses!

09. Preferred method of travel: planes, trains or automobiles?
Definitely planes! I’ve travelled long distance in the UK before on the train and I actually got travel sick from it so I don’t think I’d like to do it in a foreign country in case I did get ill! I’ve never driven long distance myself but I would love to get away for a weekend somewhere near the beach in Summer.

My New Motivational Art Work! ♥

23 February 2015

On one of my Saturday Shopping days (yes, it happens that much that I gave it a name) I went to our local shopping centre and decided to take a quick visit into a shop called Home Sense. Now this store has only recently come to our shopping centre and before I had never even heard of it but basically they sell really unique and "out there" sort of things for everywhere around the home. On one of our visits they were selling a full suit of armor. Yep.

Normally when I go shopping in Home Sense, I never find anything I like and will normally leave as soon as I get in but as soon as I saw this picture I knew I had to have it! It's a square frame with a mount with just a simple quote in a gold metallic cursive font saying "don't let anyone ever dull your sparkle" and it was an absolute bargain for only £15.99! Of course I thought the quote is very motivational and I thought that the perfect place for it to go would be right next to my desk so when I'm blogging and feel a bit down or insecure about it, I can always look up at it and know to stay positive and keep going!

Do you have anything on your desk that makes you happy?
What motivates you?
