My First Little Box: My Little Frenchie Box

After a few months of being unsure about continuing my subscription to Glossybox, I finally decided to take action and scout around and see what other monthly subscription were available! Although I did say I enjoyed the last two Glossyboxes, I'm always a little unsure on a few of their products or if I'm going to like the next box at all and I know that's the idea of these sorts of boxes, but I just think that maybe it's £10 I could be spending better somewhere else.

After doing a bit of research though I decided on trying out The Little Box subscription and a few weeks back there was a special 10% off offer on their My Little App so of course I couldn't say no to ordering! After about 2 weeks my parcel finally came and I couldn't wait to get home and rip it open to see all my goodies.

As soon as I opened the package and saw that I'd got the Frenchie box, I couldn't believe how lucky I was. Since visiting Paris last year, I've become a little obsessed with all things Paris! When opening the box itself, you're first greeted with cute little cards and magazine explaining what's in this months box and why. Underneath that were two small boxes and a fabric drawstring bag containing my make-up goodies.

In the first box was a cute little pot full of inspirational quotes made to help you through your day. Each little quote was rolled up The next box contained probably my most favourite part of this box, a smart phone case. My Little Box has teamed up with Ines de la Fressange (don't worry, I'd have no idea either if it wasn't for the handy info card included in the box!) to create this cute mini pouch where you can keep your bank cards, tickets as well as your mobile. This will be so handy when I go to the gym as I can slot my gym membership card in the pocket as well as my phone and iPod!

Next in my box was the drawstring bag which contained my 4 beauty goodies. Now Glossy box are all about their beauty products so I was wondering if My Little Box could compare and really I think they did.
First up was the My Little Beauty Embellisseur which apparently provides a light face tint for girls who are on-the-go. The anti-oxidant rich edelweiss extracts will protect skin and leave it feeling soft and smooth, so really what more could you want? Next in the bag was the L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper. I really enjoyed using the gel formula products for my eye brows so I was quite pleased to see I could add another one to my collection. I quickly gave it a test when I opened the box and I was really impressed with how amazing it made my brows look!

One of "those" products that I've always wanted but never brought was next in my box so I really couldn't believe my luck when I opened it up and it was sat there staring at me! As sad as it sounds, it was a box of oil blotting paper! Every girls needs this from time to time and mine is definitely after a gruelling shift at work. These will be going straight into my handbag for tomorrow so thank you so much My Little Box! Last product is the By Terry Kohl eye pencil in Bronze Generation - Ooooh. At first I thought it was a simple bronze eye pencil, but it's actually black with gold glitter. Personally although I think it's absolutely fab, I don't think I'll wear it but it's always great to keep for any special nights out!
Apart from the box being themed around Ines de la Fressange and there being a few French colour I'd have preferred more French products to be included in this box but maybe I'm just comparing it to the Stars and Stripes Glossybox back in July last year where all products were from the USA. Either way I liked the box but I'm still undecided on Glossybox. Maybe next month?
What do you think about the My Little Frenchie Box?

Re-Discovered Products February 2015

As most girls can agree, we like to shop. A LOT! It doesn't matter if it's for new shoes or a new lipstick, we love to go out and splash the cash (even though we have no cash to start with!) Sometimes though when we go shopping we like to buy things that we actually end up forgetting we ever brought and will normally let them fall to the back of our make-up collection never to be seen again. That is until you realise you actually have no room left to put anything so you decide to have a sort out and re-discover them again! It's an endless cycle!

Now a few of these I've actually wrote reviews when I first brought them but since I haven't used them in so long, I still felt like I could include them in this post!

rediscovered products

Rimmel Bronze Powder Blush
A new one for the blog with this and I completely forgot I even had it. I think I brought it a few years ago but I never even opened it from it's plastic wrapping! Instead of throwing it away, I thought I would open it and give it a go and I've found that I really enjoy it. It's perfect for work when I want to make an little effort but not look over the top! It can give a nice subtle glow to my cheeks but can also be built up for a bolder look. Perfect little bronzer!

Seventeen Stay Time 25 Hour Foundation | Review post here
I remember that when I first reviewed this foundation although I really enjoyed it, I did complain about it feeling a little too thick on my skin. Since starting the gym again though, I found that I needed a foundation with long lasting power and this is the foundation that obviously came to mind first. I'm really loving this foundation at the moment and I've found that even on a weekend I will find myself grabbing for it instead of my normal Rimmel foundation. I definitely will be buying another bottle when it's empty!

Make-up Revolution The Matte Effect Foundation
Another new product and one I'm actually going to be writing a separate blog post for soon! On one of my shopping trips to Superdrug I decided to buy a handful of different Makeup Revolution products to try since they're all so cheap! I was really unsure when I first brought as there weren't any samples to test in Superdrug so I just went with Natural and hoped for the best. The formula is quite watery but it dries nicely when applied to my face. I'm not too sure on the "matte effect" part but it still covers my skin without looking too obvious and once again it's great for work or when I'm out and about in the day. Not bad for £2!

MUA Matte Lipstick Fawn Fancy | Review post here
I love MUA and as soon as they announced that they were releasing a matte lipstick collection, I knew I had to have them all. And I did! I can say hands down every one of these shades are my favourite lipsticks out of everything I own. When I first brought them, I wore all of them non-stop and each shade seemed to go perfectly for whatever occasion I had coming up. After the first initial 5 shades were released though, MUA then released another 2; another brown nude shade and a pale lilac. I went with Fawn Fancy and it's absolutely gorgeous! I'm actually annoyed with myself for forgetting about it in the first place!

Wilkinsons Prime of Your Life Primer | Review post here
I have admitted that I'm normally the worst when it comes to priming and moisturisng my face in the morning but I'm normally too much in a rush getting for work to waste vital minutes applying various different creams! Bad excuse I know! Since doing my little clear out though, I have made a massive effort to try and spare a bit of time to prime my face before applyiing my make-up and I've really noticed a difference. Normally my make-up won't last through half a day but now it can last until at least the late afternoon which for someone who has oily skin, is a win. Trust me!

Is there any products you re-discovered recently?

Tag Tuesday | The Wanderlust Tag!

Another Tag Tuesday and this one in the form of The Wanderlust Tag! I can't remember where I got this from so apologies to whoever you are! Once again I don't tag people, if you like the tag just take it for your own blog!

01. Where was your first plane to?
Spain woo!  I think I was about 8/9 and we went in the six weeks holiday so I actually got to spend my birthday over in Spain. I thought it was such a magical experience being on a plane although my mom did ruin it a little when she kept shouting at me to not look through the window and not talk to her. Nervous flyers ay!

02. You're leaving tomorrow; money is no object, where are you going?
America! I’d love to do a road trip over the whole of USA. There’s so many places I’d love to visit and the cost alone would be amazingly high so it really would be a once in a lifetime opportunity!

03. Are you a repeat visitor or do you explore new places?
Yes and no. I love exploring new countries but there are a few places I’d love to go back to. I don’t think I could ever be one of those people who always book for the exact same holiday for example my Nan and Granddad always book to go to Benidorm every January for 6 weeks. EVERY YEAR!

04. Hostel or Hotel?
I’ve never stayed in a hostel and I do admit I do love a luxury hotel but if I did ever travel the world or even a country, I’d definitely be up for spending a night in a hostel just to save a few pennies.

05. Where would you travel just to eat the food?
Italy. I love my pasta and pizza!

06. Airplane essentials and how do you pass the time?
The longest flight I’ve ever been on was around 2 hours so I’m normally okay with my 3DS and my iPod. I do like to have a good natter on the flight as well but normally it’s too loud to talk.

07. Is there a place you would never go again?
To be honest, not really. I’ve enjoyed all of my holidays and I’d happily go back to any of them.

08. Your top 3 travel items?
My camera, my iPod and my sunglasses!

09. Preferred method of travel: planes, trains or automobiles?
Definitely planes! I’ve travelled long distance in the UK before on the train and I actually got travel sick from it so I don’t think I’d like to do it in a foreign country in case I did get ill! I’ve never driven long distance myself but I would love to get away for a weekend somewhere near the beach in Summer.

My New Motivational Art Work! ♥

On one of my Saturday Shopping days (yes, it happens that much that I gave it a name) I went to our local shopping centre and decided to take a quick visit into a shop called Home Sense. Now this store has only recently come to our shopping centre and before I had never even heard of it but basically they sell really unique and "out there" sort of things for everywhere around the home. On one of our visits they were selling a full suit of armor. Yep.

Normally when I go shopping in Home Sense, I never find anything I like and will normally leave as soon as I get in but as soon as I saw this picture I knew I had to have it! It's a square frame with a mount with just a simple quote in a gold metallic cursive font saying "don't let anyone ever dull your sparkle" and it was an absolute bargain for only £15.99! Of course I thought the quote is very motivational and I thought that the perfect place for it to go would be right next to my desk so when I'm blogging and feel a bit down or insecure about it, I can always look up at it and know to stay positive and keep going!

Do you have anything on your desk that makes you happy?
What motivates you?

Quick & Easy Yummy Pitta Pizza Recipe!

Dieting really doesn't well for me and normally within a few days of starting, I'll be craving burgers and pizza. It's just guaranteed! Obviously if you've been reading my blogs, I've recently started on my 100th health kick and instead of hitting that greasy yummy brick wall, I decided to try and find some "cheat" takeaways.

My friend told me of this little idea about 2 years ago (you know who you are if you're reading ;)) and I instantly fell in love with it. The idea is a healthy alternative to pizza by using pitta bread instead of a traditional pizza base.

Now I'm a bit boring when it comes to pizza and really enjoy the simplicity of just a margaritas pizza so I don't add any toppings to my pitta pizza but feel free to add anything to yours!

You'll need:
-A pack of Pitta bread
-Cheese (I prefer the lighter mature cheese)
-Tomato puree
-& any other toppings you want!

pitta pizza

Admittedly we probably put a little too much cheese on the pizza's but who doesn't like a cheesy pizza? Like I said above, I'm not entirely sure on how many calories exactly are in these pizzas but surely they're better than a big fat greasy stuff crust one from Dominos? God, that made me hungry just typing that!

Feel free to try this little recipe for yourselves and let me know how you get on!

The Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

Firstly I'd like to thank Maria over on in 1997 for nominating me for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award and of course I accept the tag! This tag seems very similar to the Liebster Award tag but either way I'm happy to be nominated!

Maria's Questions:

1. What was the last movie you watched?
Fifty Shades of Grey on the weekend :) It was so good!

Passing my driving test. All the way through my lessons and both tests I thought I was a bad driver or that I would fail so being told I had passed was such an amazing feeling!

Funny loving, loyal, friendly and hard working. I feel like this is an interview!

5. How would your friends describe you?
You'd have to ask them ;) I'm hoping it would be positive though!
6. What is your favourite beauty product?
Right now it's my new coconut hair oil. Review post will be coming soon ;)

7. If you could change one thing about yourself what would you change?
Probably my weight. But I'm positive and going to the gym to make me feel better about it!
8. What is you favourite perfume?
At the moment it's probably my Next perfume called Gold. It smells amazing for how cheap it is!
9. If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?
Probably somewhere nice and hot like Florida or Australia. I need some sun in my life right now!
10. What is your favourite colour?
Pink, definitely.
11. Blush or Bronzer?
Ooh I'd probably normally say blusher but I've been using my bronzer a lot more recently so I'd say that!

Things I've Been Loving Lately!

This is a post I've been dying to do for a few weeks now but to be honest I've never had enough to fill up a decent post. Does that make me miserable for not "loving" things? Anyway, this week I've been loving a few things so I thought I would finally take that chance to write my first "Loving Lately" post!

1. Fifty Shades of Grey Soundtrack

fifty shades of grey

I managed to get to the cinema with me opening weekend to see Fifty Shades of Grey and since then, I've become a little obsessed to say the least. I really enjoyed the movie and apart from the obviously sexy Jamie Dornan and the gorgeous and witty Dakota Johnson, one thing I really loved in this movie was the soundtrack. Personally my favourite songs are The Weeknd - Earned It and Ellie Goulding - Love You Like I Do but there also some other amazing songs on the album as well including an amazing Crazy In Love remix by Beyonce!

2. EastEnders Memes

I haven't watched EastEnders in over 5 years as I grew bored of the story line but I'm obviously aware about the whole "Who killed Lucy Beale" story line which in my opinion has been dragged out for farrrr too long. This week is finally the reveal of the killers identity but I think the most well known thing will be poor Jo Joyner's line cock-up last night. Like I said I don't watch it so I woke up this morning to hundreds of meme's and videos of these and although I feel so sorry for Jo, I can't help but find this hilarious! Keep the meme's coming!

3. Celebrity Twitter Feuds

I hate to admit that I read the showbiz columns in the newspaper websites but I do! Guilty pleasures and all! Most stories annoy me because I hate how the paparazzi follow people when they're just going to the corner shop or when I get jealous because I see that they have a better car than me. The story that's got me excited this week though is the whole disgust towards Kylie and Tyga relationship. Firstly, I hate the Kardashians. (wait for the backlash) I cannot understand how a family can milk one sex tape for so much fame and I honestly don't know how anyone can class them as "celebrities".

The twitter bitch-fest between Khloe and Amber Rose has had me in stitches all week and to be honest, I side with Amber regardless of my feelings towards with the Kardashians. The picture above pretty much just explains the situation and I completely gives props to Amber for standing up for herself!

4. Cadbury's Creme Egg Biscuits

cadbury biscuits

I'm trying so hard to keep to my diet but Cadbury have recently released their Creme Egg biscuits and they've now become my chocolate weakness. I love anything Creme egg and this are just delicious, 6 in a pack is just definitely not enough!

5. Going to the gym!

portway gym

I really didn't think I'd love going to the gym but after 3 weeks of starting my membership I'm pleased to say that I've gone everyday after work (excluding one day when it snowed!). I haven't got sick of it and I've found that I actually enjoy it! I can just shove my earphones on, put some dance/pop song on to keep me motivated and I'm away!

This is pretty much everything I've been loving this week.
What have you been loving recently?

Tag Tuesday: Beauty Scenario Tag!

It's that time again and this weeks tag is the Beauty Scenario tag! I saw that Jenan over on La Vie En Mauve had recently completed this tag and had asked anybody reading to take the tag themselves so of course I had to give it a go!

beauty scenario tag

1. You have to get rid of all your foundations and only keep one high end and one drugstore, which do you keep?
I don't have many high end foundations as I don't see the point in wearing expensive products just to wear for work. The one foundation I would definitely keep would be the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid foundation. It's my go-to foundation and one I would not like to be without!

2. You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely?
I personally wouldn't say anything because if I was in her place I would be absolutely horrified! and I know it sounds stupid but I  wouldn't want it to affect the interview in anyway. Obviously if it wasn't going well, why not?

3. You go back in time for a day to your teenage years, how would you do your hair or makeup differently?
I would tell myself to stay away from the glitter. That includes eye shadow/mascara/eye liner/lip stick/hair mascara/body spray and even hair glitter spray. It was clearly cool in the 90's to go walking around like a human disco ball!

4. You ask your hairdresser for a shoulder length pixie lott hair cut but they hear wrong and a give you a pixie cut instead. What do you do?
                 a) Smile, say thank you, leave and call your mom and cry hysterically
                 b) Cry in the chair and things get awkward
                 c) Complain to the manager and demand a refund.
Probably a bit of B & C although to be honest, as soon as I saw her cutting off more than what I wanted I'd probably start the crying. I'd like to say I wouldn't be that bothered as it's just hair and it can always grow back, but super short hair looks terrible on me so I know I wouldn't pretend to like it when I definitely wouldn't ask for it!

5. Your friend surprises you with a 4 day city break and you have one hour to pack, which "Do it All" palette do you pack in your makeup bag?
I don't really have a "do it all" palette and I tend to like a few products from different brands so unfortunately my friend would have to just wait while I packed!

6. Your house has been robbed, don't worry everyone is safe, but your beauty stash has been raided. Whats the product you really hope is safe?
To be honest I don't think I'd be too panicked. All of my make-up is high street so I could easily go out and replace them. Does that make me a bad beauty blogger or just super laid back?

7. Your friend borrows makeup and returns it in awful condition. Do you:
               a) Pretend you haven't noticed
               b) Ask them to re-purchase it
               c) Secretly do it back to their makeup
               d) None of the above.
Urmm D because I would never lend my make-up to my friends in the first place. I don't think it's very hygienic to share things like make-up and I even get a little funny when my own mom uses my lip balm.

Hope you enjoyed this tag and feel free to tag yourself for your own blog!

Mini Primark Beauty Haul!

On Valentines day, I popped into Primark and of course I wouldn't be me if I didn't walk out with a bag full! I didn't really like many of the clothes out at the moment although I did buy a stripe jumper but the majority of my purchases were beauty related so I thought I would only mention them!

I know that Primark has recently released a make-up collection with great reviews but since it's a few weeks til payday, I thought I would hold back a bit longer until I try out a few products. Everything that I brought today were products I needed on more or an urgent basis.

Argan Facial Cleansing Wipes | £1
I have no idea why I brought these as they're for people with dry skin and if you've read previous blogs, I have oily skin. I've tried most of the Primark facial wipes as I think they're a bargain for only £1 and to be honest I never see a massive change in my face anyway because of them so I thought they might be nice for in the morning before I start my daily cleansing routine.

Nail Scissors & Blusher Brush | £1.50
I desperately needed a new pair of nail scissors so I was in a bit of a rush to open these and I threw away the receipt so I can't say how much they are but I wouldn't guess that they were over £2. I've bought a few brushes from Primark over the past few years and to say they're only a couple of pound for each, they're not bad. They're a nice cheap alternative for people who don't want to spend loads for a designer set!

lip balmlip balm

Shea Butter Lip Balm | £2
Primark's answer to the EOS lip balms and a nice little bargain for only £2. They come in two different scents but I decided on Shea Butter. I've tried it a little and it smells amazing but I'm not too sure on how long this bad boy will last. Still a nice little lip balm to have knocking around your handbag though!

Volume Shampoo & Conditioner | £3 for both
Aswell as make-up, Primark's also ranging out to some hair products now it seems. They've got shampoo and conditioner sets for Blondes and Brunettes and even a Volume and Moisture as well as heat protector sprays and serums. I thought I would try the shampoo and conditioner first and if I'm impressed try out all the other products in their line.

Bubble bath & Shower Creme | £2 for both
I've seen these a few times on my visits to Primark but I've never actually committed to buying any until today when they were both on sale for £1 each! I tried the Raspberry & Blackberry many moons ago and I absolutely loved it so I can't get to have a shower just to see how amazing the Coconut & Cream smells!
