Beauty: 5 Things I Don't Have Time For!

12 March 2015

Hello!

I don't know about anybody else but I find that I don't always have the time for keeping my beauty regimes up to scratch and the majority of my week is rushing my make-up as I'm normally late for work. Even when I come back from work, I like to just remove my make-up as quick as possible and be done with it all so I can concentrate of catching up with my favourite show son Netflix. Yes I do admit that this is purely down to me being lazy but, most of the time it is due to not really having the spare time to get everything up to scratch.

I've seen a few of these kinds of posts around lately and I thought I wanted to share with you all some of my beauty routines/habits that I don't always have the time for...and let's face it there is a few.

1. Cleaning Makeup Brushes

I'm sure all of you reading this know this pain of cleaning out our make-up brushes. It needs to be done but it's probably the most boring process ever! Although I find it oddly satisfying to see all my nasty foundation come away from my brushes and down the sink hole, I will still normally leave this for as long as possible until finally giving in. It's not the actually cleaning part that bothers me, it's the tedious time wasted waiting for the brushes to dry after. There's never a day where I can go without using my brushes so there never seems likes there's a perfect time to wash them!

2. Moisturising and Priming

moisiturising

Another beauty regime I admittedly hate and "forget" doing is daily moisturising my skin. I always felt that moisturisers were pointless because I had oily skin and it would end up adding more moisture to my face would just make the problem worse. Obviously this is wrong but that's always stuck in my head and now don't bother with it. This needs to change as not only is it bad for my skin, but I also have tons of bottles of moisturiser that's going to waste!

3. Contouring and Blending

contouring
Just magic!

I cannot contour my face to save my life and although I love how amazing it looks on other girls, in the morning when I'm rushing around, I just do not have the time to worry about if my cheeks look sculpted or not! I have however recently ordered the Seventeen contouring palette I will definitely be trying to work this into my morning routine!

4. Fake Tan

No-one can deny that they love going on holiday and coming back with a nice natural tan, I know I do anyway! But if you can't afford a holiday, you could get the next best thing with a bottle of fake tan. Now it's a bit of a joke in the Internet world that fake tan can be a tricky thing and most girls come out with the "Tango-ed" effect which is obviously not what we want when we say tan. I've gone through a number of Dove and Nivea tanning creams and after numerous failed attempts, I've now learned to embrace the natural pale look!

 5. Winged Eyeliner

Now this is a bit of a hard point for me to write because I LOVE winged eyeliner but god, it's a bitch to do! I've been applying the winged eyeliner since college (8 years ago!) and I still have not mastered it. One eye can look perfect then the other looks a complete mess. To get two perfect wings is probably the hardest skill ever and anyone who can do it deserves a medal.

After writing this post I've noticed that nearly everything on this list are purely there because I just cannot be bothered. As I've said above, the majority of my week is just simple work make-up so when the weekend finally comes around, I'm normally so stuck in my ways that I can't be interested into putting more effort into my look. Obviously this doesn't apply if I go out on a night out or just somewhere special, but if I'm just going shopping or lazying around the house, I still don't want to waste my time sitting at my dressing table applying layers of make-up.
Does that make me a bad beauty blogger?!

  3. I love this post! I can't be bothered waiting for my brushes to dry either, it's such a pain! I'm also terrible at moisturising I'd rather stay wrapped up in my pyjamas haha
