Whoops: Another Payday Beauty Haul!

31 May 2015

Hello!

I don't think anyone can deny that when they get paid, there's always a little part of them that wants to go and spend it all on the stupidest things, mine is normally either a shopping spree in Primark or just multiple bags of Haribo. My needs are quite simple!

I did however need to actually buy a few make-up and skin care products as I had ran low over the past weeks so the first thing I did was hit my local Superdrug to stock up and of course, I thought I would do a quick post to show everything I had brought!

superdrug

I've said before that I'm a sucker for adverts and "new" products so I think everytime I buy shampoo, it's always a different brand. This time it's the L'Oreal Elvive Nutri-Gloss Luminiser high shine shampoo and conditioner. After seeing the advert with the model whooshing around her gorgeous luxurious hair around, it made me want the same. I'm a perfect consumer for brands! These are currently on offer in Superdrug for £1.97 each for a 400ml bottle!

As well as the shampoo and conditioner, I also picked up a fragrance from Batiste I've never tried before - wowzer! Eden is quite a nice scent and I have to admit it's one of my favs and to make it even better, it's more than half price off at Superdrug! Make-up wise I picked up another one of my favourites, the Collection Extreme 24 Hour Eye liner. This is my third pen and I honestly can't see me ever changing, it's that good! Lastly was the L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Matte foundation. I've been so many reviews about this foundation that I was desperate to test it out for myself! Hopefully I can use it in the next few days and write a review post up for you guys!

After Superdrug, I popped into Tesco to get a few things for dinner that night and of course I had to make a quick visit to the beauty aisles. I was desperate for a good blackhead cleansing scrub and one that stood out to me was the Clean & Clear 5 in 1 Exfoliating Scrub. I'm not sure what I'm expecting but hopefully it can sort my face out! The last skincare product I treated myself to was the Wilkinson Sword Intuition razor. I was currently using the razor we received in February's Glossybox but it's got a little blunt so I was looking for something new. I'm really intrigued with the shea butter soap around the razor and for £3.60, I couldn't really say no!

Lidl's Squeaky Clean Skincare Range First Impressions!

30 May 2015

Hello!

Even when I try my hardest to save money, there's always something that comes around and makes me open my purse. Luckily for me this time treating myself didn't actually cost me that much!

I've mentioned before on previous posts that even when I'm meant to be shopping for food, I'll still take a sneaky peek around the clothes and beauty aisles and this still didn't stop me when I was shopping at my local Lidl. Now recently Lidl have been causing a bit of beauty blogger hype over their Chanel dupe perfume but on my recent trip the only thing that stood out to me was their adorable, slightly Soap & Glory inspired skincare products!

They currently have all products on offer for 2 for £1.50 or 99p each which works out quite handy as there's only the 6 products. In this range you can pick from shimmer lotion, nail and cuticle cream, fake tan, body lotion, shower gel and matte face lotion. Not bad choices!

I've only used the fake lotion a few times and from that I've been quite impressed. Overall I'm really looking forward to testing these products out and I'll hopefully be able to blog and post my review about them separately when I'm done!

Mini Asda L'Oréal Skincare Haul!

29 May 2015

Hello!

Even though I know I shouldn't because I can't really afford it, I still like to take a little wander down the beauty aisles in a supermarket just to see if they have anything good on offer. There's no harm in looking right?

Well a couple of weeks ago I happened to be popping to my local Asda after work to get a few things for dinner that night when I once again, made my way to the skincare aisle. Normally I will walk away empty handed but this time they had the entire L'Oreal Paris skincare range on offer and I couldn't just leave a deal like that. I managed to pick up their Skin Perfection Cleansing and Perfecting Milk and Gentle Eye Make-up remover for just £2 each and their Skin Perfection Micellar Water for £2.50. Bargain!

Before I go to bed I will normally alternate between all three products but my keen favourites are the Cleansing & Perfecting Milk and the Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover. I've noticed that after using the cleansing milk for a few weeks my skin has started to feel a lot smoother and I've hardly had any breakouts of spots.

As well as at the end of the day, I also use these products before applying my make-up and I've also noticed that my foundation lasts a lot longer than normal. Great or what?

Overall I'm really happy I brought these as they're really making a great difference to my skin. Of course the bargain price tag just makes the deal even sweeter!

You can check them out here, here and here on the Asda website.
The deal has now expired.

Creamy Chicken and Broccoli Pasta Recipe!

28 May 2015

Hello!

As well as finding great beauty, hair and lifestyle posts on Bloglovin, another part of the blogger world I'm really interested in is DIYs and yummy recipes. Although I'm not very good when it comes to DIY, I still love to read exciting posts and wish that I was as talented as these bloggers. Unfortunately that will just never happen!

One blog I extremely love for this is A Beautiful Mess. I'm sure if you have a Bloglovin account, you regularly see them on the most popular page showing off their recent gorgeous interior designs, a new artwork they've just made or even a cheeky little cake recipe. A few months ago they posted a One Pot Creamy Broccoli Pasta recipe and my ears just pricked with excitement! I love pasta and any creamy recipe is a definite must-try for me so I printed myself a copy off for the next time I was in the kitchen!

Unfortunately this didn't happen and it was only this week that I finally managed to get this recipe back out of my drawer. Now my cupboards were slightly bare this week so a few of the ingredients might be slightly different but it actually worked out quite well in the end anyway so hey ho! In ABM's recipe it didn't have meat so I included my Quorn chicken style pieces but it's up to you how you prefer your pasta!

If you really like the look of this pasta, please feel free to pop over to A Beautiful Mess's page and print off a copy of their recipe to try it for yourself! You won't regret it!

Rimmel Apocalips in Aurora Review!

27 May 2015

Hello!

Over the years of starting this blog I've never tried to hide the fact that I do love a good bargain. There's nothing better than popping into your local Poundland/Poundworld to stock up on bleach and scrubbing brushes and end up leaving with £10 worth of make-up goodies! Surely everyone can agree with that?!

Well last month I did just that and whilst on my way to the cleaning aisle, I managed to nab myself a LOAD (6 items really) of Rimmel goodies (haul here). Amongst all these goodies, I managed to get my hands on Rimmel's Apocalips lip lacquer in Aurora which I was super excited about! I had reviewed the shade Luna all the way back in 2013 (review here) and after loving the formular and colour, I was eager to try the other shades in the collection. 2 years later and I'm finally doing that!

As you can see from the pictures below, Aurora is a gorgeous mixture of red and pink with a undertone of a bit of coral. Perfect combo! The formula is obviously the same as Luna so I knew what to expect from it. Although it looks super glossy it's not sticky and actually quite wearable as it doesn't feel heavy on the lips. The formula is extremely long lasting and can withstand a good few hours before needing to be topped up.

I'm not sure exactly when I would wear this shade as it's slightly too bright for everyday use but it's a gorgeous colour and it's perfect to keep in my collection incase any special occasion comes up!

Obviously I brought mine for £1 but if you can't get lucky at your Poundland, you can pick it up from Boots for £6.49!
