Hylamide Pore Delete Instant Surface Perfector First Impressions!

29 February 2016

Hello!

One of my favourite reasons to sign up to monthly subscription boxes are that they always seem to send you great products that I would never had brought myself. Especially the more expensive and designer brands as I much prefer the bargain brands.

Well in last month's Glossybox, we were all kindly send Hylamide Pore Delete Instant Surface Perfector which for me was definitely one of those products I would never have brought for myself. Mainly for it's £18 price tag!

I was a little unsure on this product to start with as most primer type products I've used in the past have all said to apply BEFORE make-up. But the Hylamide advise you to apply after applying liquid foundation. Is it just me or is that weird?

Anyway in picture one I applied to half of my face after applying my normal foundation and matte-wise I didn't really notice much of a difference. So much so that I can't even tell you what side of my face I actually applied it to. I did however notice that my pores looked a lot smoother and to not big it up too much, invisible.

Since I have quite oily skin, I always look nice and matte but normally after a few hours my make-up starts to slip, quite literally as well. Amazingly after a few hours my face was still quite shine-free so that in my book is a win!

Overall I would say I'm quite impressed with this perfector. Not only did it mattify my skin and hide my ugly pores, but the lasting time is amazing. I did say above that the price tag is a little steep for me but after seeing such great results, I might just purchase another bottle.

If you didn't get yours with Glossybox, you can check it out here on Amazon!

Life | My Mini Room Tour!

26 February 2016

Hello!

A few months ago I asked you guys for help and suggestions for when I redecorated my room and I have finally decided to take some photos to show you the nearly finished results.

My old bedroom before the change was from my teenager years and therefore very girly and pink. I now wanted something a bit more neutral and something to show that I'm an older and maturer adult. If that's possible.

In the end I went with a gorgeous cream and silver theme and so far I love it. There's a few more things that I want to do/add to the room but overall it's nearly done.

GEMS Are A Girl's Best Friend | Gemporia Serenite Ring* ♥

25 February 2016

Hello!

A few weeks ago Karen over at Style Sunrise wrote a themed wish list post featuring the brand Gemporia and in the post she wrote about her favourite pieces from their collection. I really fell in love with one of the rings and I went straight on their website to try and order myself one. Unfortunately the ring was out of stock in my size so I decided to search through the rest of the store to see what else was on offer.

Now I will admit there were so many other gorgeous rings and narrowing it down just seemed impossible! After about an hour of deciding, I eventually picked the Annabella Serenite Sterling Silver Ring.

I went with this ring obviously because it's gorgeous, but mainly because it reminded me of a similar ring that I used to wear when I was at high school. Unfortunately that ring broke and I remember it really devastated me!

I'm really in love with my ring and it makes me feel like I've made the right decision when I get compliments off my family and friends at work. The gems are really pretty and has a very unique shine unlike diamonds.

As I mentioned above it was very hard to decide on which ring to buy so I can easily see myself going back in a couple of weeks and ordering a few more and possibly start a little collection. There's nothing wrong with that right?

Sweet Like Candy: Lollipops Lip Balm Délicieuse Review!

24 February 2016

Hello!

Lip gloss has probably got to be one of my least favourite make-up products purely because I've had too many experiences of super sticky formulas which basically glue my lips together and make it extremely difficult to talk. Oh, and when getting hair stuck on my lips when it's slightly windy. Honestly who would choose to have this?

Well a few months ago now (back in July!) Glossy box sent us all a Lollipops Lip Balm Délicieuse. At first I was really reluctant because of my hatred for lip glosses but I thought I would be fair and give it a chance first before judging.

First of all the scent is just amazing. It really smells like candy on your lips. The formula is clear and quite light and adds just a slight little shimmer to your lips.

The packaging is really girly and I love the little cutesy theme of all of their products. That alone makes me want to and splurge on their website.

Overall I think my hatred for lip glosses is too strong and I still feel really uncomfortable when wearing them. I'm happy I tried it and will keep it encase I ever change my mind but I think I'll stick to lipsticks and lip balms!

If you missed out on this month's Glossybox, you can check the lip balm out here

Clearasil Ultra Overnight Wash Review!

22 February 2016

Hello!

Skincare and good products has become a really big and important part of my daily routine now. I always thought that since I have oily skin, that a lot of creams and lotions would just irritate my skin and make the problem worse. But with a little research and trust in new products, I have started to include more in my routine.

A few months ago now I made a cheeky order to The Online Pound Store and one of the products that I picked up was the Clearasil Ultra Overnight Wash.

clearasil

The face wash is advertised as being able to visibly reduce redness and spot size overnight while you sleep! The creamy textured formula is suppose to work continuously through the night, when our skin is actively in the process of cell regeneration, and renewal to help visibily reduce redness and the size of spots overnight. Fancy!

Now I've been using this for a few weeks now, mainly just before I go to bed and apply my nighttime skincare routine and I have to admit that I haven't really noticed much difference the next day. Yes, I know it's not a magically over night potion but after using several days in a row I would have thought I'd have noticed more. Any spots or redness that I did have, settled in the same amount of time it would have normally taken so not that good!

Overall I'm not that impressed but I'm glad I only wasted a pound on this!

I Love ... Cherry Almond Sparkle Bath & Shower Creme and Body Spritz Review!

19 February 2016

Hello!

I do love a good Poundland haul. There's nothing better than going in and seeing a product that you've wanted to try for ages or something you wanted to buy but thought was too expensive. And since everything is only £1 you would be stupid to say no.

Well the last time I popped in to look for a new lunch box for work, as soon as I walked in right by the entrance was tonnes of I Love ... products! They all the usual favourites like strawberry and coconut, but amongst them was a Cherry Almond Sparkle scent. Are these new or old or what?! I just don't know!

i love cherry almond

Either way, they smell amazing and I had to pick up both the bath and shower creme and the body spritzer because once again, how could I not for £1 each!

The best way to describe the fragrance is of a Cherry Bakewell tart. If you like the cake, you'll love this shower gel. I used it in my bath over the weekend and it smelt like I was bathing in sweets. Yummy!

I'm not sure where else you can get these as I've never seen this collection before, but I would suggest checking out your local Poundland just encase they have some!

Revlon Photo Ready Air Brush Mousse Foundation Review!

18 February 2016

Hello!

It's been a while since I brought a new foundation, or at least it feels like a while. So on my recent shopping trips to the Freeport Talke Shopping Outlet, I thought I would stock up while things were cheap!

The first foundation that I brought to review was the Revlon Photoready Air Brush mousse foundation. The only mousse foundation that I've tried before was the well known and mostly disappointing Maybelline Dream Matte a.k.a dry mousse. I have to admit that although I brought about two pots of the stuff, I hated it. It dried out my skin and it was super patchy. I was hoping that since this mousse came in a can, it might be a bit more "fresh" and not dried up. Does that sound weird?

revlon foundation
revlon foundation
revlon foundation

I'm in love. As you can see from the pictures, the formula is perfect and it's a lot more watery than the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse. That means it goes on a lot quicker and more effortlessly which is a god send when you're in a rush in the morning for work. Not much of the product is needed as well to cover your face so the one can could easily last you months!

Although I said the formula is "watery" that doesn't mean it's thin and fades really easily. The coverage for the mousse is amazing and it does the job just like any other foundation that I've used in the past.

Overall I really enjoyed this foundation and I can see myself happily using this for both day and night. For me the price is a little steep at £12.99, especially when I managed to get it for about £7 at the shopping outlet. Do I feel like my face has been air brushed and is now ready for a photo shoot? Maybe yes. Maybe a few more layers of other products on top of it though and I'd be ready to go!

Insta Natural Skin Clearing Spot Treatment Review!*

17 February 2016

Hello!

Another Insta Natural product!
If you are a keen follower of my blog than you'll probably know by now that I love my Insta Natural products. Every month I seem to be reviewing a new product from them. And who can blame me when all of their products are so good?!

Well this month's product is their Skin Clearing Spot Treatment Elixir!

Instanatural spot
Instanatural spot

I've been using this treatment for a few weeks now, normally applying before I go to bed encase any spots think of breaking out overnight. How dare they! And of course applying when I can see/feel a new spot coming on.

I will admit that at first I did use it wrong. You're meant to dip a cotton bud into the bottom of the bottle without shaking and then apply to skin. I was shaking the bottle. I wasn't sure what difference it made but then I noticed that through the day, the formula has "settled" at the bottom of the bottle and I guess that's the part you want on your face. Who knows.

Either way the elixir actually works. As I said above, as soon as I saw a new spot about to appear, I slather the area with the elixir and within a couple of hours I can already see the area "calming down" as I call it. If I'm too late and a spot is already there, I've also noticed that it's not long before the elixir has made the spot near enough vanish. Its magic!

I've also used this treatment on a few blemishes I've had on my face and like acne, it's cleared it up no problem. I really am amazed at how well it works.

Overall I'm mega impressed with this treatment and I would recommend it to anyone who suffers with acne or even someone who just gets a few bad spots every once in a while. Either way it's a great product and I think it's a bargain for only £17.95.

Freeport Talke Shopping Outlet | Beauty Outlet Store Haul! ♥

16 February 2016

Hello!

I love a good shopping spree. Whether it's clothes or make-up or maybe something completely different like new stationary for my desk at work, whatever it is, it's always nice to come back home and look back at all the goodies you've brought!

It's been a while since I had a good shopping haul though so I decided it was time to change that and head to the Freeport Talke shopping outlet! It's a bit of a distance from where I live but I know other bloggers who have gone and said it's great plus you can't beat a good bargain!

One of the shops that I was desperate to visit was the Beauty Outlet store! Like I said above, I've seen a few other people visit there and all the goodies they brought so I was insanely jealous of them. So of course that was my first place to visit.

freeport haul

As you can see I managed to pick up a quite few things and also a mini heart attack when I went to the till and the total came up to nearly £60! Oh well! It's probably all the weeks that I haven't gone shopping all rolled into one!

I will be posting separate review posts for different products so keep your eye out for them!

Insta Natural Youth Express Eye Gel Treatment Review!*

15 February 2016

Hello!

First of all, let's just be amazed with my Pritt Stick Magic Castle. When me and my mom were out shopping, she saw this and because she's a big kid - she made me buy it. So there I was on my Saturday night staying in making a card cut-out castle when I'm 25. But anyway, moving on..

Secondly, ANOTHER Insta Natural review! Wooo!
Over the how ever amount of months it's been since my first Insta Natural product, I have continuously and increasingly fell more and more in love with the brand. Honestly, nearly everything that they send me has been amazing and I really can't praise the brand enough.

This next review is for their Youth Express Eye Gel which is supposed to help reduce those horrible signs of aging. Who can say no to that?

eye gel
eye gel
eye gel
eye gel

Now I've been using this cream for a few weeks now, normally first thing in the morning and last thing at night before going to bed, along with my other skincare products and I can admit that it has made a difference to my skin. I used to have a bad problem with bags under my eyes but since using this cream, I've noticed that my skin feels a lot tighter around my eyes and my bags are definitely less noticeable.

The formula itself is lightweight and easily absorbs into your skin making it a quick and easy product to use when you're rushing around in a morning. I saw that a lot of people was commenting about an uncomfortable feeling when the cream was setting but I honestly didn't experience that.

Normally the price would have put me off buying this because it is a little expensive for nearly £30 but since I've had a chance to try this first, it's definitely made me consider buying another tube when I've ran out. If you're interested in this cream for yourself, you can check it out here!

ANTI-VALENTINES DAY! #LoveYourself ♥

14 February 2016

Hello!

Being single on Valentines Day really does open your eyes to just how much of a tacky money making scheme it has all become. Why should couples have just the one day to show how much you love each other and do you really prove that by buying a cheap looking teddy bear holding a silk heart saying "I love you"?

And if the gift side doesn't take your fancy, you could always take your better half out for a romantic meal where everywhere will be full of other "loved up couples" with their doubled price lists and hey! you might even be able to see a proposal or two. Original!

As you can probably tell, I don't like Valentines Day and even when I had a boyfriend, I always opted for a simple meal at home and then maybe a movie on the night. Simple.

Since I am single this year though, I thought I would create a small list of a few ideas of things you could do if you're single to help boycott the "festive season"! To be honest, all the ideas seems to be very similar to the ones in my Break Ups Suck post. But here is your friendly reminder!

anti valentines day

1. Buy some flowers

Flowers don't need to be brought for you. You're a strong independent woman who can go buy herself some lovely flowers without being judged! So get yourself to your local florist or your local Tesco cos you got shit to do and no time for that, and buy yourself a big bouquet of your favourite flowers. You deserve it!

2. Buy some chocolates

Same as number one, but with chocolates. Buy that milk tray and eat it all to yourself while watching your favourite rom-com. Cos you're single and don't have to keep up any body standards plus you love the one with the strawberry filling and now you don't have to fight anyone for them!

3. Take some ME time

Or how what I like to call "Single Appreciation Time". See that pile of clothes waiting to be magically picked up after themselves? No! See that pair of shoes by the front door which are just asking to be tripped over? NO!

Well instead of all that, now think of all that extra ME time you have to do relaxing things like bubble baths and drinking wine. Go single you!

4. Go out with friends

Who says you have to stay in on Valentines day? Get your bunch of friends together (preferably the single ones so you can all moan about being single together) and get out there! Additional shots are optional but are recommended.

5.  Go Shopping

Nothing makes you feel better than a new pair of shoes or a new lip stick. Whatever you decide, make sure you come home with a very battered credit card.

6. Dating sites

If you're still really hung up about being single, then do something about it. Create yourself a profile on a dating site and let the messages coming pouring in. You never know, this time next year you might have someone to share Valentines Day with!

anti valentines day

And incase anybody thinks I'm a bitter and slightly twisted singleton who is jealous of anyone with a partner, I'm not. I'm just adding a comical twist to being single and to hopefully bring a smile to someone's face.

Love Is In The Air | Glossybox February 2016! ♥

13 February 2016

Hello!

It's that time of the month again! Not THAT time of the month, but the time when that gorgeous Glossybox comes through our door!

Obviously since it's February's box, it's a Valentines Day theme and it's been described as the box where you meet your product "soulmates" so of course I was eager to see just how true that is!

glossybox february 2016
glossybox february 2016
glossybox february 2016
glossybox february 2016
glossybox february 2016

In this month's box:

Nicka K New York 24h Waterproof Eye liner | £3.99
Nicka K is a bit of a regular in Glossyboxes now and one that I have to admit that I'm never really too fused about. This time, I would have loved a new eye-liner but just not in brown. Urgh! You can't win them all!

MUA Power Pout Glaze Low Voltage Gloss | £3.50
Soon after the release of last month's box, Glossybox sent out an email for us all to pick out our favourite shade of the MUA power pout to be sent in the previous box. Since I picked the darkest plum shade for that lipstick, I thought I would pick the opposite and pick the most nudest shade so hence my colour choice! Very excited to try this out!

The Vintage Cosmetic Company Floral Slanted Tweezers | £8
How adorable are these tweezers?! Like I didn't even know tweezers could be so cute! Normally I'm quite cheap and will buy the little £2 ones from Primark but these are definitely worth the extra £5!

Noabay Protective Hair Mask Volume Conditioner | £10.64
Naobay is another recurring brand for Glossybox and one that I do like a lot more than Nicka K. The past few Noabay products have been skincare but this time it's a hair conditioner so it's pretty safe to say I'm excited to try it out! Review post coming soon!

Wilkinson Sword Hydro Silk Razor | £9.99
I think Glossybox are trying to tell us something as this exact same shaver was in last years box. Just because it's Valentines Day doesn't mean we need to shave! If our partners really love us, they should respect our hairy legs!
