Rimmel Wonder'Full Volume Colourist Extreme Black Mascara Review!

27 May 2016

Although I've been doing a lot of shopping recently and spending a great deal of money, it feels like it's been ages since I actually went out and brought a new product. What I mean by a new product is one that's basically just been released. Everything that I've reviewed lately was brought from a Beauty Outlet Store and they don't really have new stock.

On one of my recent shopping trips to Superdrug though a new Rimmel mascara caught my eye. As well as being ultra volumising, it's also has a lash tint formula! It claims that over 2 weeks it can increasingly darken your natural lashes to a nice black shade. What more can you ask for?

As you can see from the pictures above, it is a nice little mascara. It's not my all time favourite for volumising and lengthening BUT it's okay for when I'm at work as it lasts all day without leaving horrible smudges under my eyes.

Now the more exciting part - has it actually dyed my lashes? Well after just over two weeks of using the mascara, I honestly can't see much of a difference. I'm not sure if it's because I've just gradually watched it darken so I can't see the difference or if it's because I already have quite naturally dark eyelashes anyway. Either way I'm not impressed.

Overall it's a nice mascara if you're looking for a new one but I would be much happier to recommend another brand/product. If you're interested in giving this a go for yourself though, then check it out here on Boots website where it's currently on a £2 off offer!

Next Make Me Beautiful | Perfect Lips Sheer Chubby Lip Stick in Cherry Red Review!

25 May 2016

I must have been living under a rock recently because I was completely unaware that Next have launched their own make-up range! Not only is it super affordable but it actually looks really good!

In April's Glossybox we were all kindly sent one product from their range and I was fortunate enough to receive the Perfect Lips Sheer Chubby Lip Stick in the gorgeous shade Cherry Red. The colour is so me and I could not wait to get it out and give it a try!

As you can see from the picture above, the colour is GORGEOUS! Not only that though but it's super pigmented and it's slightly memorising to watch it sparkle and change. The formula itself is really moisturising and glossy and the colour lasts hours before needing to be topped up.

The one thing that I could change if I had the chance would be the packaging. The outer box was nice but the the stick itself just looked a little cheap. Especially when you compare it to the Makeup Revolution £1 lipstick which look much more expensive in my opinion!

Other than that little moan, I loved the colour and I will definitely be getting a lot of use out of it in the upcoming Summer months. If you didn't receive the lipstick in your Glossybox, you can check it out here on their website!

Maybelline Super Stay 24 Hour Foundation Review!

23 May 2016

Since I've had a bit of a mad spending spree lately, I've been trying really hard to use up all of my products before starting on something new. In theory that will help get rid of the half used up bottles and tubes which I end up throwing away anyway.

Well lately I've been using up my Rimmel Match Perfection foundatione4 and last week it finally ran out! That sounds a bit unfair because I really loved the foundation and it worked really well for my skin but I was quite excited for something new. Next on my list to use up was the Maybelline Super Stay 24 Hour foundation!

I have to admit that at first I wasn't that keen on the shade as it looked like it was on the border of being a bit orangey but once blended in with my powder it started to look a lot more natural and well suited to my skin tone.

The main selling point of this foundation is it's "super stay" long lasting power and since I have oily skin, most foundations don't last longer than a few hours. Maybelline seemed to have included some magical ingredient in this foundation though as it lasted for the whole day with only a quick touch up with powder at dinner time. Not bad!

Overall I'm really impressed with the foundation and I will happily enjoy using the rest of the bottle instead of being chucked in the cupboard to be forgotten! I managed to pick this up from the Beauty Outlet Store in Freeport a few months ago but you can pick it up at any Boots or Superdrug for £8.99!

One Pan Garlic Chicken Pesto Pasta Recipe!

20 May 2016

I'm not sure if it's just my Facebook feed, but all I seem to see at the moment is full of gross spot popping videos, LADbible posts or amazingly mouth-watering recipes. Since I'm not into zit popping and there's only so many fail videos you can watch, I thought I would try out some of the recipe videos instead.

Now I'm not sure if you've heard of or seen the Tasty Facebook page, but it's amazing. Every recipe they post looks delicious and it always makes me want to get straight in the kitchen and cook the meal for myself.

Well a couple of weeks ago my friend mentioned a garlic and pesto chicken dish that she was going to make after visiting their page and since she really enjoyed it, I thought I would follow her lead and make it for myself.

Of course I loved it so I thought I would share it with you guys as well! I am not taking any credit for this recipe, I found it on the Tasty Facebook page and I definitely recommend you like their page as they regularly post new recipes for you to try!

Here’s what you will need for four servings:

1 tablespoon canola oil
2 chicken breasts, sliced into ½-inch strips
2 tablespoons garlic, chopped
½ tablespoon kosher salt
½ tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
¾ cup heavy cream
½ grated parmesan cheese
¼ cup pesto
3 cups penne pasta, cooked and drained
¾ cup cherry tomatoes, halved
Parmesan cheese to garnish
Chopped basil to garnish

- Heat the oil in a pan over high heat. Combine the chicken, garlic, salt, and pepper, cooking until chicken is browned.
- Then, mix in the heavy cream, parmesan, and pesto, stirring until evenly combined.
- Next, bring to a boil and cook until the sauce has reduced, about five to seven minutes.
- Toss in the pasta and cherry tomatoes, stirring until evenly coated.
- Remove from heat. To serve, sprinkle parmesan cheese and basil on top!

W7 The Honey Queen Honeycomb Blusher Review

18 May 2016

Whenever I need new make-up my first thought is where I can get it the cheapest. Unless it's a brand new product which I don't mind paying full price for, I always try and shop around to see where it's on offer or has a deal on it. It never hurts to save a few pennies!

One of my favourite places to shop for this half price make-up is beauty outlet shops and one of my faves is at the Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet shopping centre! It's a bit of a distance from where I live but I think it's well worth it when you get there.

One of my recent purchases was this adorable little pot from W7 of their Honeycomb blusher! I was on the look out for something to wear in the Summer months and I couldn't resist the cute packaging!

When I opened it up and saw gorgeous honeycomb detailing, it made me not want to use it encase I ruined it but of course I didn't buy it to look at it. The first time I used it I was extremely hesitant as it looked very shimmery and I didn't want to look like a glitter bomb exploded on my face.

As you can see from the picture above it's not really that noticeable and I was quite disappointed by this. The brush you get with the bronzer is pretty naff and I would definitely recommend using your own. I would talk about it being long lasting or not but you probably couldn't even tell if it was still on or not!

It does look slightly better in person than in pictures but overall I wasn't that impressed with it. I definitely think there are better and just as cheap products out there (for example the MUA Mosaic blusher) so I would recommend those over this. If you're still interested though, you can check it out here on Amazon for less than £3!

InstaNatural Aloe Vera Cooling Gel Moisturiser Review!*

16 May 2016

It's been a while I reviewed anything from InstaNatural and to be honest, I've missed it! I really did fall in love with the brand and I miss trying them all out so I will really enjoy writing this review!

The last product I have left from my InstaNatural collection is the Aloe Vera Cooling Gel Moisturiser and it's one I've been using for a good couple of weeks now so I thought it was finally time that I wrote down my thoughts.

aloe vera gel

When I first received the gel I thought it was just a face/skin product since it's called a moisturiser but after reading their Amazon page, I soon found out that it can also be used on hair as well! Wow!

The formula is really light and is quickly absorbed into the skin so no time is wasted standing around waiting for it to dry. I wouldn't say it's the best at "cooling" but it's still a good product.

I haven't really used the gel much for my hair so I can't comment too much on it but for the times that I did, it really did moisturise my hair really well. I didn't need a tonne of leave in creams to get the brush through my hair so for me that's a win.

Another little handy use for the moisturiser is an antibacterial gel for sunburn and minor scratches and bites. What can't it do?!

Overall I'm well impressed with the gel and I will definitely be re-purchasing when I've used it all up! Although £19.95 does sound a bit expensive I personally think it's well worth it when you consider how much use you can get from it!

April Pay Day Beauty Haul | Superdrug!

15 May 2016

It feels like it's been an age since I actually let loose a little in a shop. Every time I've been recently I've been "watching the pennys" and have tried not to spend too much but last week I thought Fuck It! and I went and brought exactly what I wanted!

Since it had been a while there was quite a few things on my list to buy but I did manage to calm my shopping need and only pick up a handful. Because I'd waited so long that also meant that I was able to read other blogger's reviews about products so I know which ones to get and ones not to waste my money on ;) Sneaky!

superdrug haul

Now first of all, Superdrug are quite well known for having amazing offers on their products and I did take advantage of a few when I placed this order. A lot of the products were buy one get one half price so that's the reason for the odd totals!

Batiste Sweetie Dry Shampoo | £1.50
Batiste Medium Brown Dry Shampoo | £1.98
Rimmel Scandal'Eyes Nude Eyeliner | £3.13
L'Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Max Lipstick | £5.38

L'Oreal Infallible Foundation Powder | £3.84
MUA Luxe Whipped Velvet Lips | £1.50

There are so many good deals out at the moment so I would definitely recommend checking it out! Of course I will be posting reviews on all of these products so keep an eye out for that!

Easter Special | Lush's Golden Egg Review!

13 May 2016

Slowly but surely I'm working through my collection of Lush bath bombs as I had that many it was getting a little ridiculous. I don't even have baths that often!

My latest bomb was the gorgeously glittery Golden Egg from their Easter 2016 collection. I cannot express how glittery this was. Just by taking it out of the bag to take the pictures, I was covered. Even now a couple of weeks later I can still see bits of glitter in my cupboard where they were kept!

First of all, I have never smelt something that isn't food so gorgeous and edible. As soon as I plobbed it in my bath the scent of toffee filled my bathroom.

Considering this bomb left such a mess in my room, it didn't really leave me that glittery when it was time to get out of the bath. You could slightly see a bit of shimmer on my skin but not anything noticeable. Gutted!

It did however leave my skin feel SUPER moisturising! It felt like I'd applied my thickest lotions and potions without any of the horrible stickiness. Perfection!

Overall it's a gorgeous bomb and I'm really gutted I didn't pick up more than one. I'm not sure if they're still in stock at the moment due to the bomb being a Easter special, but if they are you definitely need to bag yourself one.

Glossy Getaway in London | Glossybox May 2016

12 May 2016

I'd like to think I'm getting back in my Beauty Blogger groove and have been paying more attention to the blogging world. As well as checking out more blogs and trying to connect more with my readers, I've also been checking out new ways to improve my blog. So keep an eye out for that!

Another thing I've done recently is actually keep tags on when my Glossybox will arrive! The past couple of months I've been completely unaware of when it's due and will often be surprised when it's pushed through my door. This month though I have been counting down the days until it arrived because from the sounds of the spoilers, this month was going to be amazing!

Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser | £8.99
I don't think I've ever heard of this brand before so I'm not too sure on what to expect. From what my little bit of research on Google brought up, it's made me very eager to start using it!

Absolut New York Velvet Lippie | £4.93
I wasn't too sure about this when I first saw it - mainly because of it's colour. This isn't the first time that Glossybox has sent me a bright baby pink shade and I honestly just don't think they suit me. I do however like the sound of the formula so maybe it will be able to change my mind!

Hawaiian Tropic Protective Dry Oil SPF 15 | £13.99
I think Glossybox predicted the lovely weather when they included this but unfortunately it has gone slightly downhill since then. I still will definitely get some use out of this though in my Summer holidays!

Bee Good Youth Enhancing Plump & Firm Moisturiser | £23.50
Another brand I don't think I've heard of and I instantly know why - the price! Even if this product does what it says on the tin, I still don't think I'd want to pay over £20 for that privilege. I will however enjoy my free sample!

Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara | £9.99
I have been looking forward to this SO much!! We were asked months ago which product out of the collection we wanted and I was expecting it to be in last month's box. A month later it's finally in my hands and I will definitely be writing a review asap!

& Proper Corn Lightly Sea Salted
An unexpected bonus but one I will definitely not turn my nose up on!

Garnier Dark Spot Corrector Daily Unifying Moisturiser Review!

11 May 2016

It feels like I've had this cream for ages but writing this review but the truth is is that I've been trying to use up my older skincare products so I can give this an honest and 100% true review. So here it is!

I actually picked this up from one of my Online Pound Store hauls because obviously it's a bargain for only one pound but other than that I'm not really sure why as I don't majorly suffer from blemished skin.

Either way I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and I thought I would write up a quick review!

As I mentioned above I've been using it for a few weeks and I have to be honest here - I've not noticed any difference. My skin has felt a little softer but since the main aim from buying this was to lighten any blemishes ect, I wouldn't say it's done it's job.

Overall I'm not going to moan as I only spent a pound on it so it wasn't like a complete loss. I'm not sure if it's still available on the Online Pound Store website but you can pick it up here instead for £9.99 (or less if it's on offer!) from Superdrug!

W7 Loads of Lashes Mascara Review!

09 May 2016

The one thing I love about Glossybox is that they always seem to send you that product that you've recently wanted to try, It's like they can read your mind!

Well back in March's box they sent everyone the new W7 Loads of Lashes Mascara and I was so excited to give it a go. I know the Younique version of the Fibre Lashes has been causing a lot of noise in the beauty blogging world and it's something I've been desperate to try for myself.

Well W7 have come up with their own cheaper version of the product and like I said above, we all got send them in our Glossyboxes!

First of all, I have to give praise to W7 for their packaging. Nearly everything that I've brought from W7 is packaged really well and Loads of Lashes is definitely one of them.

As I've never used this type of mascara before I wasn't really sure what to expect. I was a little dubious over the fibres being white/transparent and I thought they would stand out when applied to my lashes. Surprisingly they didn't and they actually gave the impression of thicker lashes.

The process is also really simple and quick to do. Just apply one layer of normal mascara and apply the fibre lashes mascara while still wet. When you're happy apply another layer of mascara and you're done! I suppose you could repeat the steps again if you wanted but once seemed enough on my lashes!

Overall I was really impressed with the results and it didn't leave me with any nasty itchiness or irritation throughout the day. I will definitely be using this for the next time I go out and I'd recommend this over fake lashes any day!

If you weren't signed up to Glossybox then you can check it out here on Amazon for less than £5!
