12 Day Breath Challenge | CB12 Boost Chewing Gum Review!*

29 June 2016

Hello!

Although I consider this blog to be mainly beauty and fashion, it nice for every once in a while to branch out a little and talk about something a bit different. I've been on a bit of a health hype recently talking about diet, meal supplements and even online gym membership but what about dental health?

Well a couple of weeks ago I was contacted by CB12 who are a brand dedicated to stopping bad breath and bad dental hygiene! To help promote their cause, I was asked to take the 12 Day Breath Challenge!

First, how does CB12 work?

CB12 boost is a unique sugar-free chewing gum containing zinc, fluoride and xylitol. With its patented technology it ensures first class breath and oral health. Zinc prevents unpleasant mouth odour while Sodium fluoride strengthens teeth and prevents cavities and Xylitol reduces plaque.

I have to be honest and say that I don't normally bother with chewing gum. Why? Because it just doesn't last! Nearly every brand I've tried in the past, I will chew it for about 10 minutes and then it will be completely flavourless and turn rubbery. Gross! You may as well just buy mints!

The CB12 gum though is completely different! Do you remember those lollypops with the chewing gum middle when you were younger? Well it's kinda like that. It's like a mint on the exterior and when you're done with that you can start chewing and it transforms into gum! Magic! The minty flavour goes on and on and it still present even after about half hour of chewing!

I've been using this gum for around 14 days (I did take a few days off as I wasn't feeling too good) but overall I'm really loving the results. My mouth actually feels cleaner (is that normal?) and my breath is just wow!

They are definitely a lot more expensive than your normal Wrigley's extra chewing gum but when you consider how the flavour doesn't disappear within the first five minutes and actually has more long term benefits, I don't mind so much. You can only buy these from pharmacies at the moment but think of the points from Boots!

W7 Cool Pastels Spring Time Limited Edition Lipstick in Tear Drop ♥

27 June 2016

Hello!

As I talked about a few blog posts back, I visited Cheshire Oaks for May Bank Holiday and while I was there I popped into one of my favourite stores in the whole world, The Beauty Outlet Store.

I managed to pick up a few bits and I'm working my way around them all to write reviews for them.

I am in love with this lipstick. From the girly packaging, the easy way it glides onto my lips to the gorgeous pinky pastel colour. It really can do no wrong for me! I can definitely see me getting a lot of use out of this before the end of Summer!

Unfortunately I can' t seem to find this lipstick ANYWHERE online which I find really odd but maybe that's just me! If you do manage to find it somewhere, please let me know as I am desperate to collect the rest of the shades!

Hello!

Getting fit and losing weight has always been high in my list of priorities but I always seem to fail and more than likely, add pounds instead of take them off. I've tried most fad diets and meal supplements out there and although I've managed to lose the weight, I've always struggled to keep it off for good.

Then I discovered GymCube.

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter Lipsticks in Red Velvet & Raspberry Pie Review!

22 June 2016

Hello!

This year, I spent my May bank holiday stuck in traffic on the M6 on my way up to Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet. How  perfect? After a few hours and Krispy Kreme's later, we finally arrived and I was desperate to get out their and shop!

One of my favourite shops to visit is definitely their Beauty Outlet store as I always manage to pick up some right bargains! One of my recent finds was two gorgeous new shades from the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter range! Obviously I didn't know this at the time but after doing a bit of research when I got home, I couldn't believe what I deal I'd got!

The shade I was most eager to try was Red Velvet (cos' I love the cake!) and I have to admit that it did not disappoint. Although it looks like a dark red shade, when applied it comes a slightly brown tinted which is much more wearable for both day and night.

The next day was Raspberry Pie which I wasn't too sure on as it looked quite bright when I swabbed it on my hand but like Red Velvet, it surprised me how different it looked and also how much I loved it!

The best thing about these Lip Butters is the long lasting and super moisturising formula. After hours of wearing both, the colour was still intact and my lips still felt really glossy. What more can you ask for?!

I'm not used to wearing "bright" colours and will normally stick to nudes but I can actually see myself wearing both of these shades in the day and even to work. If you don't fancy taking the trip up to Chester, you can get them both here on the Boots website for £7.99 each!

L'Oreal Infallible Foundation Powder in Warm Vanilla Review!

20 June 2016

Hello!

A couple of weeks ago I had a tiny haul from Superdrug and I'm slowly but surely getting round to reviewing all of the products I brought! It's been such a long time since I had a good "blow out" on make-up so I was running low on quite a lot of my products, one in particular was my pressed powder.

Since I have oily skin I find that I used quite a lot of powder to keep the shine at bay so I always get through them pretty quickly! My recent favourite has been the Collection Lasting Perfection powder but after buying nearly three in a row, I thought I would try and branch out a little.

Since I was already putting a few L'Oreal products in my basket and they were all on a buy one get one half price offer, I thought it would be pretty stupid not to buy a powder from the L'Oreal range!

In the end I decided on L'Oreal Infallible Foundation Powder in Warm Vanilla mainly for it's 24 hour selling point. 24 hours is a bold statement and trying it against my oily skin would really be putting in to the test! The results? I wouldn't say the whole 24 hours but maybe about 12?

Other that that, it's a great little powder. The packaging is perfect if you're on the go as it even comes with a handy mirror and sponge!

The only bad thing about this powder was that I stupidly brought a shade too light as it does make me look very pale but that was my fault and not L'Oreals!

If you're interested in checking this out you can get it here while it's still in the buy one get one half price sale at Superdrug!

Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara Review!

17 June 2016

Hello!

A couple of months ago, Glossybox sent us all an email to say that they would be featuring the new Revlon mascara collection and that we could choose which one version we wanted to get! Well I was super excited at the opportunity and spent a good 10 minutes googling which one I should get. In the end I picked Ultra Volume since it sounded so "ultra".

Originally I thought this mascara would come in the April Glossybox and disappointed was not the word for how I felt. Luckily for me though they didn't' make me wait too long as there it appeared in the May box!

I've been using this mascara for a few weeks now and I'm absolutely loving the way it makes my lashes look. Not only does it make them look extra volumised but it helps lengthen my lashes so much that when I wear my glasses I can feel them brushes off the lens!

The formula itself is really long lasting and you'll definitely be guaranteed to finish your day without the panda eye look. That makes it a winner all by itself in my opinion!

Overall it's a great mascara and I'd definitely be interested to check out the other mascaras in the collection. If you didn't receive this because you weren't signed up or went with one of the other choices, you can pick it up here for £9.99!

Glossybox | June 2016!

16 June 2016

Hello!

Every once and again I think think about cancelling my Glossybox subscription as I currently have two previous Glossyboxes full of unused face creams and lotions that I still haven't got around to using. But then every month when my next box is due, I get all excited like a little child that the thought of cancelling them seems stupid!

May's box was really exciting and had lots of good products so I was hoping that June would follow suit and not let me down!

SPA To You Konjac Sponge | £6.99
The first product that caught my eye and mainly because it's the biggest, was this konjac sponge. I've never heard of a konjac sponge before but after reading the packaging and all the good things it can do for your skin, I'm very excited to give this a go!

Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream | £20
Glossybox have sent out a few mini tester sizes of Origin face creams in the past and I have to admit that I've enjoyed using them all so I'm quite looking forward to trying this one too. I don't think I would ever spend £20 on a full size bottle no matter how good it was though!

De Bruyere After Sun lotion Monoi | £9.48
Unforunately although I'm super excited to this in my box,  I don't think I'll be getting the chance to use this this year. I do however love the scent so I can see myself using this anyway as a hand cream or something. Seems a bit of a waste but it's better to let it sit there!

Ladival Sun Protection Spray | £19.99
Like the after sun lotion, I don't think I'll get much use out of this. Hopefully it has a long life date on it as I might need to pack it away until next Summer!

Emite Make-up Lip & Cheek Tint | £12.50
This is the first thing that my eyes went to as soon as I opened my box up. I love lipsticks and even more when they're a gorgeous pink/red shade like this. I tried it on and it really is such a gorgeous colour. Review to definitely come!

Aussie Hair Care 3 Minute Miracle | £1.09
This treatment is actually a bonus product and one I was quite grateful to receive! I love Aussie hair products and I swear by their treatments.

Things I'm Loving | June!

15 June 2016

Hello!

It's been a while since I wrote one of these posts as I normally forget or there's just nothing new to talk about. BUT since it's been a few months since the last one, I thought there was definitely a few new things to talk about!

Now it's been a few months so A LOT has happened in that time. I got a new job, a new car and even a new boyfriend *wink wink* I went through a very stressful time with my ex boyfriend and my mental health but I'm now better and healthier than I've been in such a long time!

The Sun!

sun instagram

The sun has finally started to come out! YAY! That means I can finally put away my Winter coat and boats and bring out the Summer dresses and sandals! Next comes trying to convince my boyfriend to some nice days out in the country!

TV Shows Returning!

game of thrones primark

It feels like it's been forever but finally a few of my favourite shows are back on and I cannot wait to be up to date with them all! From Game of Thrones to Once Upon A Time to Pretty Little Liars, I have so much to catch it up!

Instagram

Instagram

Obviously I've always loved Instagram but I've really been trying to be more "active" on there instead of just flicking through and liking pictures when I'm bored on my dinner break. I've just over my 200 followers which I know isn't that massive compared to other bloggers but it still means a lot to me!

Contouring

contour

A skill that I've always had a problem achieving but in the past couple of weeks with a lot of practice, it's really coming a long! I now have an array of different powders and creams for contouring and I've finally found a routine that seems to be working for me. Who knew contouring could be so good?!

Life in General

me instagram

As I mentioned above, this time last year I was in a really shitty place; in a depressing relationship and going-nowhere job and I knew I really needed a bit shake up. Unfortunately that went on for a lot longer than it should of until things got so bad that I ended up in hospital. Needless to say everything has changed now for the better and it's made me look at life so differently now.

Diwah Jewellery | The Petal Poppet Blog Necklace!*

14 June 2016

Hello!

One of the best things about being a blogger definitely has to be the chance to collaborate with brands. Whether they're well known or just starting out, it's great to be able to build relationships with them and to know that you've helped promote great companies to other people. There is definitely something satisfying about it all.

Well a couple of months ago I was contacted by a custom made jewellery company called Diwah asking if I would like to collaborate with them on a new blog post. Of course I couldn't turn the opportunity down and I set straight to work on creating my perfect necklace.

I based my necklace on the pre-designed "Charlotte" necklace, which to be honest ended up looking very similar (Whoops!) I just fell in love with the simplicity of just having a few beads with the big statement pendant that I couldn't resist.

After I put my order in, Diwah kept me up to date with the whole process from the time it was being put together to the time it was sent out to me. The packaging and the presentation itself was gorgeous and really added to the whole excitement of unveiling the necklace.

Overall I'm in love with my necklace and I can definitely see myself getting a lot of wear out of it. If you're interested in adding a personalised, one of a kind necklace to your collection then you can check out the Diwah website here. You can also check out my necklace design or you can create your own from scratch.
