The 5 Day Deodorant?! | Perspirex Comfort Deodorant Review!*

29 July 2016

Hello!

In previous posts in the past, I've been quite open to being a bit of a bargain hunter and often buying things like toiletries and make-up only when they've been on offer. You'd be amazed as well what bargains you can get from Poundland!

The downside of being thrifty like that is that you often miss out on the new products that come out as you're normally distracted. A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by Perspirex, a company who produce high-range antiperspirant and was asked if I wanted to trial one of their deodorants. At least I was like "surely it's not as good as my Nivea" BUT Perspirex's deodorants claim to be effective for 3-5 DAYS. Yes, days. Obviously I couldn't pass up the opportunity to test that out for myself!

perspirex comfort
perspirex comfort
perspirex comfort

As I said above, Perspirex specialise in deodorants for people who suffer with excessive sweating and although I don't particularly suffer with this problem, I still thought I would give it a go, especially since the sun has started to make an appearance and is making it near impossible to stay cool so I suppose every little helps!

When offered the product, I decided to go with their Comfort deodorant are it's formulated to provide effective sweat and odour protection while the comfort skin care system CPX ensures an extra good skin feel with minimum irritation. Perspirex Comfort is the perfect choice for those who suffer from only occasional excessive sweating which of course, is me! Perspirex Comfort is also free from perfume so even people with the most sensitive skin can still use this.

Obviously, as Perspirex's biggest selling point is their amazing 3-5 day lasting power, it's probably the main reason you're still reading this review. Well I've been using the deodorant for a couple of weeks now and been testing it through full work days and trips to the gym and I have definitely noticed an absence of that horrible sweaty smell.

Lasting longer than 1/2 days though? I honestly doubt it! It's not that I don't have faith in the deodorant but I don't think I could go that long without a shower! For people who do suffer with excessive sweating, I have no doubt that it would be definitely up for the job. Even after the hardest workout ever, I still didn't smell! The red face and breathlessness is another thing altogether....

If this sounds like the perfect deodorant for you, then you can check it out here on the Boot's website!

Life Update ft Living Room Ideas!

27 July 2016

Hello!

It feels like it's been a while since I actually sat down and blogged. Yes, posts have still be posted but they've been scheduled for a while so I've allowed myself a mini break. Not because I'm fed up of blogging, but because A LOT has been happening in my personal life and I thought it would be best to talk about it all on here!

Firstly, I now own a house.

Yes, an actual house. Not like a Wendy house you had when you was little. A big 2 bedroom house. All to myself.

At first I was completely overwhelmed with it all; appointments for mortgages, solicitors bills and then the whole redecorating process! It's been a bit of a nightmare, but now I'd like to think I'm out the other end and I can actually start enjoying it and let my inner interior designer in me come out to me.

My first job will be decorating the living room/dining room as I want that to be the main room of the house so therefore it will be the most important room! I have been getting plenty of ideas from Pinterest so I thought I would include a few below.

If you're a first time buyer or have recently brought a house to, please let me know any tips and tricks to help me! :)

Getting Ready for Winter with Bklyn Luxury Fur Bobble Hat Review!*

25 July 2016

Hello!

It feels a bit silly writing a review post about Winter hats in the middle of July but since the typical English "Summer" is in full force (which means it's miserable) I thought that it was actually quite fitting.

Being comfy and warm in the colder months is essential to me and will also go out searching for the perfect product to do the job for me. To save me hours of walking around my local shopping centre, a fashion clothing company called Bklyn contacted me and asked if I liked to review one of their luxury bobble hats!

brooklyn bobble hat
brooklyn bobble hat

Now excuse the fact that I look like a dork trying to take a decent picture of me wearing the hat but I didn't realise how high my furry bobble was! I couldn't get it all in the picture!

After doing a bit of research into the company I found that they specialise in hats and accessories made using only the finest Italian merino wool. My hat was created from the finest quality wool and is made and hand finished in England. Its softness and timeless elegance are just two characteristics that make this fabric so unique. Merino fibres are extremely fine, enabling them to bend far more than traditional, coarser wool fibres. This makes Merino wool feel soft and luxuriously gentle next to your skin and kind to your hair and after wearing it for a few hours, I honestly couldn't agree more.

The only thing that I wasn't keen on was the real fur bobble. I am totally against real fur (even some faux fur creeps me out) so I would have preferred an option to have maybe a wool bobble instead!

Overall, it's a nice little hat however the fur really put me off and I probably won't be getting much use out of it. I do know however that they will be soon releasing a faux fur range which I would definitely be interested in checking out! If you're interested you can check out the rest of their range here!

UKLingerie Presents The Dream Girl Baby-Doll!

22 July 2016

Hello!

Every once in a while, it's nice to go out and treat yourself to some nice, sexy lingerie. Even if you buy it just for yourself to see, there's nothing better then knowing that under your clothes, you're looking hot!

A couple of weeks ago I was given the opportunity to review an item from the luxury online lingerie brand, UKLingerie. At first I was thinking of buying something practical like a T-Shirt bra that I could wear to work but after having a look through their website, I fell in love with the Dreamgirl Babydoll set!

uklingerie babydoll

The fabric is gorgeous and the fit of the baby doll is so forgiving for everybody, if you don't feel comfortable showing off your stomach area, which luckily for me I don't. The bra doesn't have anything in the way of support so you really are left to your own devices there girls but honestly I preferred that. It was way more comfortable!

Another problem I normally have when buying lingerie sets is that I'm not perfectly matched with my top and bottom. In other words, my bottom size isn't always the "suggested" size to my top size. Are any women? But with this baby doll both the top and the pants fit me perfectly! That earns UKLingerie double points for that alone!

Yes I probably won't get as much out of it than a T-shirt bra, but like I said above, it's nice to treat yourself to life's little luxuries and even after looking through their website again, I'm happy with my decision! If you want to check out the rest of their collection, you can check out their website here.

The 8 Hour Challenge | Snoreeze Snoring Aids!

20 July 2016

Hello!

We all have little embarrassing habits/secrets that we wish we could keep under wraps but I found that since getting with my new boyfriend and subsequently started staying over at his, my secret has come out. What's my secret you ask? I snore. LOUD.

Luckily for me, it's never bothered me that much and it certainly never woke me up but obviously when you sleep with someone in the same bed and they tell you just how bad you are, it starts to become a problem.

A couple of weeks ago a company called Snoreeze came to my rescue and offered me a trial of their Oral Strips and Throat Spray. At first I was a little hesitant on whether they would make any difference but after another sleepless night for my boyfriend, I was willing to give anything a go!

snoreeze
snoreeze

My favourite out of the two products definitely has to the throat spray. Although I liked the oral strips and actually left my mouth nice and minty, they were a little too thick and didn't quickly dissolve on the roof of my mouth as quick as I'd have liked. It made talking quite difficult! The throat spray however I could angle straight onto the back of my throat and instantly felt it getting to work.

The results?

I know I'm a heavy snorer and as I said above that I wasn't expecting much and since I'm asleep, I couldn't really be the best person to judge it. My boyfriend however woke up the next day and said that for the most part of the night, I didn't snore as loud! He did say when I was in deep sleep I was loud but the majority I didn't so I would call that a success in my book!

I know there was many things that contribute to snoring and I probably do have some underlying problem that I need to get sorted but if you're only a light snorer then I would definitely recommend giving one of these products a go. The website is super easy to navigate through and there's different pages to help "diagnose" which product would be best for you!

Eylure Naturalites Natural Volume False Lashes Review!

18 July 2016

Hello!

It's been a while since I received the November Glossybox (8 months to be exact) and I've only just got round to testing out my new Eylure Naturalites False Lashes.

I've never really been a fan of false lashes and whenever I have worn them for nights out and parties, I've ended up pulling them off and stuffing them in my handbag. Not good!

I do however love the voluminous, full look they give my lashes so they are a bit of "once in a while" product. As I said above, Glossybox included a pair of the new Naturalites in their November box and although I was super excited to try them, they seem to have got lost in the black hole of my beauty cupboard!

As you can see from the picture above, the lashes are a little noticeable. I did try and blend them in my mascara and eyeliner but it looks like the inner corners do stick out a bit. I'm not sure if this was because of my bad make-up skills or because of the lashes themselves but either way I felt quite fab wearing them!

Not trying to repeat myself, but like I said above I'm not a major fan of false lashes and prefer the easy low maintenance of just using a volumising mascara but on the offer chance I do have a special occasion, I would definitely be using these use again.

If you like the look of these lashes or prefer something a bit more "eye-catching", then check the range out here on the Superdrug website!

The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil First Impressions!

15 July 2016

Hello!

As I've said many times in the past, the best thing about being signed up a monthly beauty subscription box is when you get sent things you'd have never bothered to buy for yourself. Let a lone from brands that you've never even heard of.

Well this time I had heard of the brand but I was a bit torn on whether I should buy the product or not. When it comes to skin care, I'm very hesitant with what I buy as I suffer with oily skin so I'm very paranoid about buying things that will just make the situation worse.

Unless you've been living under a beauty blogger rock, you'll know that The Body Shop have recently released a new beauty skincare range called Oils of Life. By infusing 3 precious seed oils from around the world, known for their revitalising and repairing properties on skin – Black Cumin seed oil from Egypt, Camellia seed oil from China and Rosehip seed oil from Chile – with a powerful blend of essential oils, we created a lightweight daily facial oil to intensely revitalise skin, instantly replenish moisture and revive radiance. Sounds good, right?

the body shop oils of life

As I mentioned above, I do suffer with oily skin so I was really unconvinced it would work for me. Surely adding oil to an oily face is not a solution!? The lightweight, quickly-absorbed formula though effortlessly melted onto my skin leaving a non-sticky, velvety-soft finish with no added shine whatsoever!

As this is just a first impressions review I haven't been using it for too long and I wouldn't want to give a full review without giving it a good test. I am however loving what I'm seeing so far and hope that it continues!

If you fancy checking it out for yourself you can check the facial oil out here or the rest of the range here.

Glossybox July 2016!

13 July 2016

Hello!

I've been signed up to Glossybox for nearly 2 years now and it's become a bit of a chore to think of an introduction to my review posts.

So I've decided to just skip it this month and just get to what was inside this month's box! That's what you're here for anyway!

Utan and Tone Nourishing Night Creme | £12.50
A new brand for me and so far I've completely fallen in love. The first night I used this I actually woke up to a gorgeous golden complexion. After just one use. AMAZING! The bad thing about the creme is the biscuity-tan smell which Uton and Tone promised it didn't have. Oh well! Can't have it all!

Hawaiian Tropic Island Berry Lip Gloss | £6.99
I'm really loving the recent influx of Hawaiian Tropic products and this new Island Berry lip gloss has made me fall in love with gloss all over again! I love the gloss and the smell is just to die for! Definitely need to buy more!

Icona Milano Emotion Allowed Mascara | £13.04
Another new brand for me and one that Glossybox has bigged up quite a lot. Not only is this mascara water proof but it's designed to give your lashes a bold, false-lash effect. I haven't had a chance to try it yet so only time will tell if it will live up to it's expectations!

Hairon De-tangle Brush | £6.99
De-tangle brushes have gone crazy in the beauty world recently and I've never really jumped on the bandwagon with it because I have a bit of a sensitive scalp and the brushes always look a little too "sharp". Needless to say though I'm super excited to give it a go!

Blank Canvas F20 Flat Brush | £11.95
How gorgeous is this brush?! As soon as I opened the box I fell in love with the gorgeous pink handle! The sparkles are actually quite mesmerising! The brush itself is really good quality and I'm super excited to give it a go!

Emite Make-up | Lip & Cheek Tint Review ♥

11 July 2016

Hello!

I've mentioned this many times before but one of the reasons I stay signed up to Glossybox is that every once in a while you get sent something that you absolutely fall in love with. I have to admit that it's been a while since this happened but in my June 2016 box I was sent the Emite lip and cheek stain and I did most definitely fall in love with it.

As soon as I opened my Glossybox it was the first thing I was drawn to because the colour is just gorgeous and definitely something I would go for when buying myself.

emite lip stain

I think I may be in love. The colour is really light and sheer and can easily be built up to a brighter shade. The colour is super natural and I honestly haven't stopped wearing it since opening my Glossybox.

The downside is that for a "stain" it's very easy to remove. After just a few hours and a couple sips of Vimto and it was barely visible on my lips! Sorry, that's not correct. It actually left colour along the outline of my lip so it gave the appearance that I had applied a pink lip liner and forgot to fill the rest of my lips in. Not a good look!

Overall I'm a little disappointed about it's lasting power as it's such a gorgeous colour and I love the way it looks. Because of this I think it's a bit of a rip off for nearly £13 and would definitely recommend buying something half the price and that lasts double the time!

Buff and Butter | Different Ways to Use Essential Oils*

09 July 2016

Hello!

Essential oils are something I've never really took much interested in if I'm totally honest but after reading some reviews recently on all of their many uses, I've started to do more research and am now convinced that I've been missing out. When I was offered the opportunity to try out some of the lovely Buff and Butter essential oils I decided that it was time to put some of that research into practice!

As I said above, I've never used essential oils before so I was slightly overwhelmed with all the different ways you could could use them and after about an hour of googling them all, I decided to go with a more "Beauty" theme a.k.a how you can use the oils to help with any beauty problem!

buff & butter oil

Geranium

Suffer from acne, dermatitis or any other common skin diseases? Then try mixing a teaspoon of coconut oil with five drops of geranium oil, then rub the mixture onto the infected area twice a day until you see results. You can also add two drops of geranium oil to your daily face or body wash!

Ylang Ylang

Coconut oil is one of the biggest things in beauty at the moment and it can also be used with essential oils to help make amazing hair masks. Try massaging a ylang ylang and coconut mixture when showering to increase the appearance of healthy, shiny hair. It can also be helpful for preventing tangles and dandruff, while also working as a hair loss remedy. Some research even shows this combination can kill head lice! Seems like a handy little oil to have around.

Myrrh

It is best to mix myrrh with carrier oils such as jojoba, almond, or grape seed oil before applying it to the skin. It can also be mixed with an unscented lotion and used directly on the skin. Due to its antioxidant properties, it is great for antiaging, skin rejuvenation, or healing of wounds.

Cedarwood

Cedarwood essential oil helps reduce dry or flaky scalp. It stimulates the scalp and increases circulation. To take advantage of this essential oil benefit, mix two drops of cedarwood essential oil with coconut oil to create a mixture with anti-fungal and moisturising properties. Add the mixture to your scalp, and rub it in for five minutes. For the best results, let it sit on your scalp for 30 minutes or so — then wash it out. Done!
One of the most common uses for tea tree oil today is in skin care products, as it’s considered one of the most effective home remedies for acne. One study found tea tree oil to be just as effective as benzoyl peroxide, but without the associated negative side effects that many people experience including red, dried and peeling skin. You can make a homemade gentle tea tree oil acne face wash by mixing five drops of pure tea tree essential oil with two teaspoons of raw honey. Simply rub on your face, leave on for one minute, then rinse off.

Tea tree oil has also been proven as very beneficial for the health of your hair and scalp. Like coconut oil for hair, tea tree oil has the ability to soothe dry flaking skin, remove dandruff and even can be used for the treatment of lice. To make homemade tea tree oil shampoo, mix several drops of tea tree essential oil with aloe vera gel, coconut milk  and other essential oils like lavender oil.

One Pound Goodies | Pantene Nutri-Plus Strengthening Intensive Conditioner Review!

08 July 2016

Hello!

My hair has definitely been in need of TLC lately as for the past couple of weeks I've been on a mini adventure to try and get my hair blonder. I'm not going for an all over blonde so I haven't bleached it but I have used a few blonde home kits to try and extend my Ombre/Balayage hair style.

I am now at a stage where I'm happy with the colour but no longer happy with the condition of my hair. To try and bring it back to life I enlisted the help of some deep conditioning hair treatments. The first product on my list to try was the Pantene Breakage Defence Conditioner!

pantene conditioner

I've been using this now for a couple of weeks, normally using it about 3 times a week and I really have noticed a difference in my hair. Instead of the brittle, straw-like excuse for hair, it's now silky smooth and soft to touch. I could star in my own Pantene TV advert with all the whooshing around I do now.

Like it says in the title, I managed to nab this in my local Poundland so obviously it only cost me one pound! If you want to give this a go for yourself, you can browse the whole collection on the Pantene website.

Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in Front Row Review!

06 July 2016

Hello!

Another week, another lipstick to review! You'd think I'd have finally got enough and would stop buying but where is the fun in that?!

A couple of weeks ago I went shopping up Cheshire Oaks and I've been gradually getting through all of my purchases. The last product I did buy was the Revlon ColorStay lipstick in the shade Front Row.

I wasn't too sure on what to expect but I remember hearing a lot of good things about the lipstick when it first came out so I was excited to give it ago. Unfortunately they didn't have many shades in stock at the time so I was quite limited to my choice but in the end I went with the ultra summery shade "Front Row"!

revlon colour stay lipstick

First of all can I just say how gorgeous this colour is! At first look at the lipstick, I thought it would be far too light and "Barbie"ish but when applied it's a much subtle natural looking pink which has a gorgeous pigmented shine to it.

Although I really enjoyed the shade, I'm not big fan of the formula. Instead of it being glossy and drying into a nice matte "suede" shade like most other "lip lacquer" products I've tried in the past, when applied it turns into very sticky "mess". Not a great flattering word I know but it's the only word that I can describe the way it feels when it's on my lips! It made it very difficult to talk as my lips were often stuck together.

The colour itself is gorgeous and I'm really disappointed that the formula has put me off wearing it. If you fancy giving this lipstick a go for yourself and think that I'm just being a drama queen (which I probably am!) then you can check it out here for £8.99!
