Happy 5th Birthday | Glossybox August 2016

It's quite nice having my birthday in the same month as Glossybox as the boxes always seem a little more special. And I like to think that it's because of my birthday. Weird? Oh well!

Unfortunately I wasn't in when this months box was delivered so I had to wait nearly a week before I could get it so that's why this post is a little late!

Rae Feather Mini Mongram Pochette | £20
How adorable is this little pouch? Not it's worth £20 especially when you consider you could buy a whole bag from Primark for less but it's super cute and I'll definitely get some use out of it!

MUA Eyeshadow Palette | £4
I actually got an email from Glossybox saying that I was sent the wrong palette (You were able to choose which one you wanted last month) so I'm a little disappointed but there's still some gorgeous colours in this palette so it's not all bad!

Mudmasky Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask | £53
£53 for a face mask? Is it just me or would you expect literal miracles for that price?!

Spa To You Deep Pore Facial Cleansing Brush | £6.99
Cleansing brushes have become really popular in the beauty world but I've never really brought into it. Needless to say I'm really excited to give it a go and see what all the fuss is about!

Cowshed Wild Cow Invigorating Body Lotion | £20
I have to admit that the name did make me giggle a little. Yes, I'm a child. Luckily for me though I've recently run out of my body lotion so I look forward to giving this a go and maybe purchasing the full size!

L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Purity Mask Review

If you haven't heard about the new L'Oreal clay face masks, where have you been? I don't think I can go on any social media website without seeing at least two posts about them! Well a couple of weeks ago I made a naughty purchase to Boots and I thought I would check them out and see what all the fuss is about!

Now I have mentioned several times in the past that I suffer with oily skin and that I sometimes find it difficult to find that perfect skincare product. So deciding which clay mask to buy for myself was a little difficult until I saw the word "mattifies" in the description for the Purity mask so of course, I went with that one!

If you've seen any of the posts from other bloggers/celebrities you'll notice that it's quite common to buy all three variations and use them all for separate areas of you face. This is great but for £7.99 each, it's got to work for me for to fork out for all three!

Obviously I only have the purity mask and I use it on my T-zone and on my chin which are normally the most "oiliest" areas and even after a couple of uses I can definitely feel my skin feeling fresher and just generally cleaner. It helps keep my shine away and I can normally get through a whole day without re-applying powder.

Overall I'm in love and I am seriously debating going and buying the remaining two masks. You can check them out on the Boots website where they're currently £5 each!

Happy 15th Birthday Rimmel x Kate Moss! | Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in My Nude

Over a year ago now I fell in love with the Rimmel nude lipstick collection by Kate Moss, specifically shade 45, and even went as far as buying a handful more of the same colour just so I could never run out!

Well to celebrate 15 years of Rimmel x Kate Moss, they've decided to team up once again and bring out another loads of amazing products, including 5 unseen shades of the Lasting Finish Lipstick! Since I was so in love with my other Lasting Finish Lipstick, it only made sense to buy myself one!

When it comes to lipsticks for a daily basis aka for work, nude is the way forward. I like wearing something that's close to my natural lip colour as that's where I feel more comfortable so after what felt like ages of deciding, I went with the shade My Nude.

I'm not sure shade I would pick if it was between this one and shade 45 from the nude collection and it doesn't really help that they're quite similar. Either way My Nude is gorgeous and it still has the amazing moisturising formula like the previous Kate collection.

You can check out the other 4 shades in the 15th Birthday range here where they're currently on a buy one get one half price deal. Perfect excuse to buy them all!

Life | Things I Can't Live Without!

As everyone can probably agree, there are just some things in our lives that we cannot live without. I've saw a few other bloggers writing a list of these things and I could help but create my own little list.

1. My Cat

lacey lou

I have no problem admitting that I am a crazy cat lady and that I'd be absolutely gutted if I didn't have her in my life. She's been really poorly lately and had to have several overnight stays, blood tests and even one surgery and she still manages to be her usual crazy self. I love her to bits!

2. My Phone

disney phone case

It's pretty sad to admit this but I think I would be lost if it wasn't for my phone. There's so many times throughout the day when I'll just have a flick through Instagram or read all the latest goss on my Facebook and I just don't know what I'd do if that wasn't available to me. I'd probably get a lot more done but I'd be really bored!

3. My Car

citroen ds3

I do not know how I survived before without my car, like, how did I get anywhere?! I was also a little anxious about riding on the bus when I was a teenager as I always scared of getting on the wrong one and ending up miles from home so when I finally passed my test I felt more confident going out.

I'd also not had the best past history when it comes to cars (as you can see here) but I'm hoping that my new Citroen DS3 will bring me better luck!

4. My Family

family selfie

I know that I definitely don't see my family as much as I should and I would never forgive myself if I ever lost anybody. I've been through a lot in the past 12 months and I don't know how I would have got through it all without them by my side and for that I will always be grateful.

5. Wine

Because wine not.

6. My Blog

blog header

My blog has become a bit of a release for me and although I'm not the most popular of them all, I still love to keep it going. Even if no-one reads it

7. Music

I cannot go anywhere without my iPod and I actually feel lost when I leave home without it. I wouldn't say I have a specific music style and I do tend to listen to a bit of everything from Avenged Sevenfold to Disney. It really does vary! P.S. how cute is my little toy from Mcdonalds? I call him Pippin.

Coconut Lane | My New Purchases!

One of my favourite places to shop right now is Coconut Lane. I did buy their "Reach for the Stars" necklace at the end of last year and I just fell in love with the store and everything they sell. It's took me a while but I've finally made my second purchase and I think I'm in love with it even more than my first!

Since my last purchase I've decorated my room and have been on the lookout for something to help "spice up" my lonely looking bed. Thanks to Coconut Lane though, I found the perfect solution! Enter my Pancakes & Prosecco In Bed pillow! Obviously it's gorgeous and it suits my decor so much. Tempted to buy more to have in my living room.

My second purchase is this gorgeous rose gold link bracelet. I made this order a couple of weeks ago and since the parcel arrived, I have not taken the bracelet off (apart from showering and sleeping).

Recipe | How To Make A Vegetarian Frittata!

It's been a while since I did a recipe post and that's mainly down to that in Summer, I don't tend to eat much other than salads and BBQs. And the occasional take-away obviously! I'm not perfect!

I've actually been saving this recipe for a few months now and it's took me this long to actually make it. I found it over on Kirsty's blog Kirsty London and I take no credit for the recipe at all! It just looked too yummy not to make!

Now this is a vegetarian meal but if you are a meat lover like me, then feel free to add some chicken into it just like I did. I also didn't add the mushrooms as I didn't have any in the house. This is basically just a perfect meal for throwing in any veg you left out. No waste here!

6 medium eggs
3 medium sized tomatoes
1 pepper
200g of frozen peas
½ a floret of fresh broccoli
6-7 medium sized mushrooms
60g of cheese (of your choice – I personally went for mature cheddar)
1 clove of garlic

1. Firstly, I chop up all my ingredients so they’re all ready to go

2. Put boiling water into a saucepan and place a sieve on top so you can steam your peas and broccoli together

3. Add the peas and broccoli to the sieve, cover with a saucepan lid and leave for 3-5 minutes

4. Take a large non-stick frying pan, place on a medium heat and use a small amount of sunflower oil to coat your pan

5. Cut the garlic up into small, thin slices and add to the pan

6. Keep the mushrooms and garlic moving so they don’t burn. Once the mushrooms are soft, add the pepper to the pan

7. Leave the pepper to cook for around 2-3 minutes

8. After 2 – 3 minutes, drain your peas and broccoli and add to the pan with the peppers, mushrooms and garlic

9. Add the tomatoes to the mix as well

10. Mix together well and leave for a further 2 minutes so all ingredients are cooked and hot

11. Whilst you’re waiting, crack 6 eggs into a bowl and mix together (you can add a splash of milk to this mix if you like)

12. Season with salt and pepper

13. You’re going to have a lot of veg in the pan and it’s going to be very hot, so the eggs will start to cook straight away. Instead of moving the veg around to mix with the eggs like you would with an omelette, just pour the egg mixture all over the vegetables as evenly as possible

14. Leave in the pan for around 4-5 minutes or until you can carefully lift up the frittata and see that the underside is cooked. Once the underside is cook, place the entire pan under a grill to cook the top side and leave until golden brown

15. Add cheese and melt under the grill for a few more seconds

You're welcome!

I stupidly forgot to take a picture when I made mine so this picture is from Pinterest!

Life | My New Rose Gold Hair!

I've had my Ombre style hair for over 5 years now and even when I lobbed my hair off, I still dyed my hair and kept the faded blonde look. Over the past couple of weeks I've felt a little bored and fed up with my hair and wanted a bit of a "change" so after looking on the net for some ideas, I came across the idea of rose gold hair.

Now yes, rose gold started off as a type of gold available in jewellery but since it's popularity has grew since then, I think it's now possible to buy ANYTHING in a gorgeous pinky rose gold shade. Even an iPhone. One thing I did notice after looking through fashion magazine and websites, that rose gold hair is now a thing too! Of course that little girl inside of me loved the idea of pink hair so off I went to buy the dyes!

After a disaster of trying to order the dyes from Boots, I actually found gold when I popped into my local Poundland and saw these L'Oreal Feria Pastel Toning Conditioners in a gorgeous peach colour. Now I picked a few of these up "just to try" and ended up completely falling in love with them. You apply the conditioner to your hair and leave on for 15 minutes and then wash out as normal. The pictures below show the results!

What do you think of the Rose Gold hair trend? Will you be trying it out this Summer?

Life | My 26th Birthday Wishlist

In just one week, it will be my 26th birthday! 26! That's like 4 years away from 30! Ahh!

I've never really been that bothered about getting older, I've just kind of accepted it and just hope I enjoy my life instead of counting every day. This year is a little different though, it feels like I'm officially getting old!

I wasn't really going to do anything for my birthday as it's not a special year but saying that this year is a little bit special for me. It's my first birthday as an official home owner and that has really made me feel old. This to some people might not seem like a big deal but to me it's like I'm an actual adult with responsibilities and I should reflect that somehow!

birthday wishlist

I know, my wish list is pretty boring. BUT when you consider that I've just brought a house and all my time and money seems to be on set on decorating ect, I thought I would skip being selfish and ask for things that will make my new house into a home!

That being said, I do think I need some new additions to my Pandora and I have completely fallen in love with the above charms and earrings. Fingers crossed!

How to be a Fairy Princess with The Other Kingdom*

I think every woman (maybe men. No judgement) here today has dreamt of being a princess when they were little. There was always something really magical to me about putting on a pretty dress and tiara and thinking I could take on the world!

WELL! Starting from the 8th August, Nickelodeon is bringing together a world of mythical creatures, magical beings and high school teens with the premiere of The Other Kingdom! The show will follow the journey of Fairy Princess Astral and her choice between being a fairy princess or becoming human. Personally I'd pick fairy princess but that's just me.

To celebrate the release of the show, Nickelodeon have handpicked a selection of bloggers to show off their own summer fairy style! Of course the inner child (and adult) in me couldn't resist!

What more do you need?!

TRESemme Expert Botanique Shampoo, Conditioner and Hydrating Mist Review!

Another month, another new shampoo and conditioner review!

I really am a sucker for new products and they're tempting introductory offers. Like who can really resist them?!

Well on one of my recent shopping trips to Asda, I noticed the new Tresemme Expert Botanique range and I had to pick myself up a few products to try. Would be rude not to!

tresemme bontanique range
tresemme bontanique range
tresemme bontanique range

First of all, they smell amazing. I've never really been over keen on coconut scents but these products make me feel like I'm on holiday. I just close my eyes and I'm that on that beach drinking a Malibu and coke! Moving on! The formula for both the shampoo and conditioner was ultra moisturising and left my hair feeling silky smooth and not the usual mess it normally is and for me, that's all I can really ask for!

The hydrating mist though I wasn't as impressed with. The instructions say to use on damp or towel dried hair, which I did but I found that it sprayed in more in clumps and didn't evenly cover all of my hair. When my hair dried I also noticed that the areas that were covered were a little stiff to touch. Not my fave product!

If you follow my blog then you'll know that it's not the first time I've brought Tresemme products and I'm always left feeling really satisfied and that my money has been well spent! Once again Tresemme has pleased me and I'd be happy to buy these products again, maybe apart from the mist! If you love Tresemme as much as me, you can check out their Botanique range on the Superdrug website where they're all currently half price! Bargain!
