New Home | Pinterest Kitchen Ideas!

If you follow my blog then you'll know that I've recently brought a house and am currently in the process of decorating and basically just making it a home.

A couple of weeks ago I posted a little "idea board" of samples of what I'd like my living room to look like and since then I've nearly finished it (apart from a few little bits) so it's on to the next room!

Once again, all the pictures are from Pinterest and I own nothing!

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Review!

A couple of weeks ago I was kindly send a mini travel size version of Too Faced's Better Than Sex mascara in my latest Glossybox and being super excited was an understatement.

I've read so many good reviews when it first came out that I was a little tempted to go and buy me a tube but I was always so put off when it came to the price. Surely I'm not the only one who thinks £19 for a mascara is a little steep?

Nevertheless, Glossybox treated me with this mini version and it was the perfect time to test it out!

Now I've tried many mascaras in my 26 years and I'd like to think that I know which ones work for my flat and boring lashes and I've always believed that you don't need to spend lots on getting good results.

That was before I tried Better Than Sex. Even after a few strokes I could see a massive difference to the volume of my lashes. When I was finished applying the rest of my eye make-up I couldn't believe how amazing it had made my lashes look. There was no clumping so any horrible "spider legs", all my lashes were perfectly fanned out and had so much volume I couldn't wear my glasses as I could feel them touching the lens when I blinked.

The best thing about it all was that it lasted throughout the night without leaving me with the dreaded panda eyes and was super easy to take off at the end of the night. All in all, I'm not sure what more you need from a mascara and although I said above that £19 was a lot for a mascara, I probably would be willing to make an exception for Better Than Sex. You can check the full size bottle out here on the Debenhams website!

Red Edition | Glossybox September 2016

It's that time of the month again! Glossybox time!

All my recent post has been solicitors letters or bills from the water company. Not very exciting. So when my Glossybox appeared on Saturday morning it was a lovely change!

Now I'd seen a few sneak previews of the box and I knew that it would be a special collab box but nothing had prepared me for the gorgeous red box inside. *insert heart eye emoji*

Inside this month's box

Vitamasques Hydro Face Mask | £7.99
A new brand for me and I have to be honest but I'm a little hesitant about using it. I don't distrust the brand but I suffer with oily skin and this face masks promise of 120 hours of hydration scares me a little. I will definitely keep it though for the upcoming Winter months as my face does normally dry out a little then!

Radial Smokey Eye Pencil | £17
You can't beat a good eye pencil and although I do probably have enough to last me a lifetime - you can never really have too much! I'm not the best at smokey eyes (I also looked like I've been punched in the face) but I'm always up for giving it an attempt.

The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Lip Balm | £12
Antioxidant lip balm is definitely something I've ever thought I'd need in my life but after giving it a quick test when opening my box, I have now seen the error in my ways!

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara | £19
I cannot explain how excited I am to receive this! I've read so many good reviews about how amazing it leaves your lashes and although it's a mini travel size, I now have it for myself! Watch this space for a review!

Revlon Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat | £7.99
I have to admit that I've hardly painted my nails in the past 2 weeks or so - I just simply cannot be bothered! After a few days of doing them they get scratched so I never see the point. Having this new protective top coat though might make them last a bit longer so I'm looking forward to giving it a go!

The Body Shop Sample
Two face masks in one box?

& MUA Palette
If you read last month's Glossybox review then you'll remember that they actually sent me the wrong MUA palette so this month they included the right palette. The palette I received last month was gorgeous and I was happy enough with that but thanks Glossybox for being a babe.

My Top Blogging Peeves!

I recently wrote a post about my top 10 pet peeves about driving and since it turned out to be a nice little stress relief for me, I thought I would write another one but this time focusing on blogging.

As fellow bloggers I'm sure you can agree with some of these points and could even add a few more. Once again, it's not picking on people, it's just a light hearted rant.

1. Following and then un-following
Yes following new bloggers and broadening your horizons is great but sometimes you lose interested or they just don't talk about things you're interested in anymore. It happens. But I'm talking about the people who unsubscribe/unfollow in the same day. WHY!? Is it a way for them to get a follow out of you or something because that just doesn't work for me.

2. Scam profiles
Are scam profiles still a thing?! No, I do not want to take a look at your profile or some product you're selling. Just go away.

3. Selling out
I know there's been a lot of controversy over certain "Youtubers" selling out and to be quite honest, I have to agree. Don't get me wrong I love Youtuber/Bloggers like Zoella and Tanya Burr but slapping your name on a product and charging for it is a little bit of a cheek. Lying about ghost writing and stealing quotes for wall art is not okay girls!

4. Bitching
I hate going onto someone's blog and seeing them slate another blogger. Why do that? We're all just doing something that we enjoy so why should you make fun of that? It doesn't matter if someone has millions of followers or just a handful, that doesn't give you the right to make fun of them.

5. Rude retailers
Luckily it's only happened the once to me but I did have a case of a really rude company I was working with a few months ago. I had reviewed the product, wrote my review and scheduled it to go live the next week. When I told the representative this, he demanded I post the review now. Needless to say I don't collab with that company anymore.

6. Posting only positive reviews/sponsored posts
You're not going to like EVERY product you ever try so not just be honest and admit you didn't like a product. Even if something has been sent to me for a sponsored post, I haven't liked the product and I'm honest with my review of it. Don't be a sell out!

7. Not responding to comments
I love reading your comments and I like to think that when someone has taken their time to write some, they've done so because they enjoyed and wanted to share/start a conversation. I don't get why some bloggers blatantly ignore their readers when they've left nice comments! That for me is a good reason not to follow someone.

8. Pop ups
I hate going on someone's blog and the first thing I see is a big pop up asking me to sign up to their newsletter. I've not even been able to see your blog and you want me to make a decision like that? Don't force that on people.

9. Music/Videos automatically playing
When I'm in a good "blog reading" mood, I often have tonnes of different tabs open of blogs that have caught my eye. I HATE when you hear music or talking though and it's like a hunt to find which tab is making the noise! Please don't do it!

10. Bragging about a "perfect life"
No one's life is like an Instagram feed so please stop making out like it is. I'm not jealous but I'd love to see the picture of the bags under your eyes or all the dirty washing up from your perfect avocado on toast. Never see that!

Bug Bee Boom | Rose Gold Bangle Review!*

As I've talked about being in previous blog posts I'm not really a fan of "fine" jewellery (apart from my gorgeous Pandora pieces) and will more often pick out costume pieces to wear out and about.

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by the lovely online jewellery and accessory company Bug Bee Boom and was asked if I'd like to review one of their products. Of course I said yes and after about an hour of scrolling through all their pages, I decided on the gorgeous rose gold bangle.

The simple rose gold design is stunning and I've really got attached to wearing it out. Although it's simple and elegant, I've had lots of compliments when wearing it so it's definitely eye-catching!

Bug Bee Boom have a whole range of gorgeous jewellery and accessories and you can check out here on their website.

Happy 10th Anniversary | Girl, Missing Book Review!*

I love reading. Even since I was a little girl I always loved sitting down with a good book and being taken away to another world. We even used to have a mobile library drive around our neighbourhood and I would be there waiting for it every Friday afternoon to swap my books.

Nowadays I have to admit that I don't really read as much as I used to and my main "reading time" is whenever I have a bath. Which is normally once a week. Obviously no where near as much as I want to.

Well a couple of weeks ago I was offered to opportunity to review the best-selling book Girl, Missing and as it's been ten years on from its first publication the book now includes exclusive extra content from Sophie! Girl, Missing has sold over 150,000 copies in the UK alone and won countless awards and prizes and is a must for fans and readers that are yet to discover this modern classic.

About the book

Lauren has always known she was adopted but when a little research turns up the possibility that she was snatched from an American family as a baby, suddenly Lauren's life seems like a sham. How can she find her biological parents? And are her adoptive parents really responsible for kidnapping her? She manages to persuade her family to take a trip across the Atlantic where she runs away to try and find the truth. But the circumstances of her disappearance are murky and Lauren's kidnappers are still at large and willing to do anything to keep her silent...

Even at 26 years old I really enjoyed this book and I honestly couldn't put it down. It's actually made me want to read more thriller books so if you have any suggestions let me know! You can pick Girl, Missing up from Waterstones for £7.99.

*I was sent this product to trial but all my opinions are my own.

JD Williams | My Perfect Summer Style!*

First off, I love Summer!

But because I live in the lovely England, our Summertime is very limited. Which means when it is sunny, we often run out the house with our sunglasses and suntan lotion and head for the closest beach or park. We're quite notorious for it.

Because of our very temperamental weather, that means that this post has been delayed. A lot. Sorry!

A few weeks ago I was contacted by JD Williams with the opportunity to collaborate with them and to help showcase their fashion range and my own personal style. I was so excited and I couldn't wait to reply back to them!

If I had to describe my own fashion sense I'm not sure I could as I personally think it changes from day to day. My main obsession when buying clothes though and something I notice that I do buy more of is prints and particularly anything that could be described as "boho or vintage". A few years ago I would have brought whatever was popular or "fashionable" at that time but over the past year or so, I've really tried to develop my own style.

After looking through their website I finally decided on this gorgeous maxi dress and as you can see, I once again picked something patterned and what I thought was slightly boho. Unfortunately I've only managed to wear it out the once due to the gorgeous weather lately but there's so many different ways to wear it that it takes me forever to decide!

maxi dress

My favourite way to wear it is with gladiator sandals, a fringe bag and maybe a denim jacket to take if it gets cold.

JD Williams offer a wide selection of gorgeous clothing to show off your own personal fashion sense. You can check out my maxi dress here and the rest of their summer dress collection!

Life | My Top 10 Driving Pet Peeves!

I've been driving for a few years now - 8 years to be exact- and over those years I've noticed that there are A LOT of bad drivers out on the roads. My main journey is driving to and from work which on a good day can take up to 20-30 minutes and there's not a day gone by when I don't encounter these terrible drivers so I thought I would create this little list of all the things that annoy me!

Now I know everyone isn't confident on the roads and that can probably be the reason for most of my pet peeves below actually happening BUT this isn't meant to be "picking" on people and more a kind-hearted rant.

citreon ds3

1. Indicators.
I'd say this is very common with drivers nowadays and we can all agree this is annoying. The amount of times I've had to slam on the brakes because the idiot in front couldn't be bothered to indicate where they were going is just unbelievable. They were installed on your car for a reason, please use them.

2. Taking over parked car.
Now sometimes you're driving along and there's parked cars on the road ahead. My peeve is when the cars are parked on the other side (so where I have the right of way!) and the on-coming car over takes said parked car but takes the WHOLE of my lane to do so. I know you have to leave a "safe" distance encase the parked driver opens his door but this always happens on a road near me where it's clearly wide enough to over take and not make me stop. You're not a tank mate. You don't need that much room.

3. Slow drivers
There is a speed limit for a reason but I hate the people that drive below that limit. Everyone goes on about how speeding is dangerous but driving below the limit can also be just as bad.

3a. This also includes people who hesitate at junctions. If there's a space, go!

4. Being in the wrong lane
I am guilty at this one myself, especially if it's in an area I've never been in before and I'm not sure which lanes goes where but I'm on about when people are in the complete wrong lane. For example, I've seen cars and vans go in to the right hand lane at an island then cut across all lanes to take the first exit! You know that's where you're going but you just don't want to sit in all the traffic for the left hand lane. That's total douchebag territory!

5. Islands
Carrying on from number 4, island is another major pet peeve. As well as the above scenario, the other reason I dread islands is because people don't follow the island round and just cut across the lane. For example, on the way to work there is a big island and I know from being in the right hand lane I can go straight across (the second exit). Now nearly EVERY DAY when I try and do this, the car from the middle lane will cut me up and then shout and stick their fingers up at me like I'm in the wrong. Follow your lane dickhead!

6. Talking on the phone.
There are so many products out there that take away the need to physically hold your phone to your ear. Most new cars even come with in car Bluetooth so you can connect your phone to the car and make calls through the speakers. There is just no need to take your hands off the wheel. It's illegal! Stop it!

6a. This also includes women applying make-up at the wheel! WHY?!

7. Car Decorations
I'll admit when I had my Mini Cooper I did have the "go faster" stripes put on the bonnet but I think that's where I draw the line on stickers etc on cars. Some just look extremely tacky and I think are a complete waste of money. Your car doesn't run off fairy dust and you are definitely not Tinkerbell.

8. Motorbikes
The day I started writing this list, my cousin was in a car accident. He's fine but his car is a complete write off. Why? A biker. He was turning out of a junction and the bike came out of no-where doing 60mph in a 30 zone and went straight into the side of my cousins car. This is exactly why I hate motorbikes. They speed around zig-zagging in between cars, hiding in their blind spots and then if something does happen - it's the car's fault.

9. Racing/Showing off
When I first passed my test I thought I was amazing in my little green KA and I enjoyed the feeling of driving around like I owned the road. Now 8 years later that has well faded but apparently not for some drivers. I don't want to race you off at the lights and I don't care about your new flashy Audi/BMW. It's just a car mate. It's even worse when the bloke is about your dads age. Urgh!

10. Ignorant Parkers
If you have a normal sized car, why do you need to take up two spaces?! The amount of times I've had to drive around a car park because the space I've gone for is next to a moron who can't park straight is terrible! It also gives you comfort when the doors have been scratched to death by other car doors banging into it as that's a sure sign they're good drivers!

I probably could go on for hours talking about all of my pet peeves but I'll stop at 10. If you can think of anything else that annoys you while out on the road, please feel free to comment below!
