A Bright And Glowing Complexion:

The first step of your make-up routine would be achieving a radiant and glowing complexion, which is easily achieved by mixing your foundation with a moisturiser. This creates a satin-like finish over the skin when finally topped off with a highlighter. Another reason I opt for this hack is that diluted foundation has a lesser chance of becoming cakey and it melts very naturally into the skin. 

The Perfect Crease:

I love how with little experiments, you find that some products can end up serving more than one purpose. If you use a bit of bronzer in the base of your eye shadow on top of primer, you give the eye a good base to put eye shadow on. Similarly, if your eye shadow has turned out a bit darker than usual, you do not need to completely wipe it all off. Just dab a clean eye shadow brush in a bronzer and with light strokes blend it into your eye shadow to lighten it by one or two tones. This tip works like magic!

Perfectly Curled Lashes:

To get those amazing upward curled lashes, you must already be using a lash curler. What if I told you there’s a better way of using it? Grab your blow dryer and heat your lash curler with the hot air. Make sure it doesn’t get too hot, then curl your lashes and lock in mascara to get perfect and longer-lasting mascara. Lash curls stay in place for longer duration depending on what mascara you’re using, find yourself a mascara that's long-lasting with a great finish to pull off the perfectly curled lashes look. 

Matching Lip & Cheek:

I’m going to give you a compound hack for this one; tinting your cheeks and lips in matching hues gives a very vibrant, natural look especially if you’re using the shades of pink. To get this look, keep a lip stain with you. It defines and colours the lips boldly and you can simply rub some on your cheeks to get a rosy shade. Or, grab your blush and mix some of it in a clear scented lip balm to give your lips some colour. 

Translucent Powder:

This one product serves has a make-up setter, oil-control mechanism and a thickening agent. Once you’re done with your make-up, never forget to dust some translucent powder on your cheeks and the rest of face to set the make-up in. It gives a luxuriously matte texture to the skin. In between two coats of mascara, it serves as a lash thickener. If you apply a little translucent powder in between your layers of lipstick, it stays on for longer.

AW17 Fashion Forecast: The On-Trend Looks of the Season

Autumn is on the way; in just a few short weeks it will officially be autumn, which means that autumn and winter fashion will soon come into play. Bearing that in mind, now is the ideal time to revamp your wardrobe and prepare it for the coming season.

Of course, knowing what looks are set to be hot will help with that, so below is a guide to the AW17 fashion forecast, detailing all of the most on-trend looks that are set to take the fashion industry by storm this autumn.

Each season has a colour; last autumn that colour was pink - pastel pink to be exact. This season, the colour of the season is red. From pillar box red to deep maroon, red is set to be the colour of AW17. As for how red should be worn this season, it’s all about going big and bold. Red can be worn as an accompaniment to a plain outfit, but this season it’s best worn as the main part of a look. The fantastic thing about red is that it tends to flatter all skin tones, and so, can be easily pulled off by anyone.


Layering is right on trend

For the past few seasons, layering has been a big trend, and AW17 is no different. This autumn layering is set to be a big part of many looks. Whether it’s teaming a denim pinafore dress with a capped sleeved t-shirt or layering a flannel shirt over skinny jeans and a cami top, layering is set to be big this season.


Slogan tees are big business

For the past few seasons, slogan tees have been a fashion staple, and that isn’t about to change anytime soon. Slogan tees are set to be bigger than ever this season, with more and more brands launching their own chic designs and styles. When it comes to what to team these tees with, it’s all about simplicity: think mum jeans and trainers, skinny jeans and ballet flats, or tuck your slogan tee into a denim skirt and pair with a chunky knit cardigan. To add a little something extra to your look, incorporating a bold piece of jewellery, such as something from Jaubalet Paris bespoke jewellery, could work well. You don’t want to take precedence away from the slogan, but you do want to add glamour to the t-shirt.


Tights are a worthwhile investment

Tights have always been seen as an accessory to a look, but not this season. Oh no, tights are set to become the main part of many looks. Wondering why that is? Well, this coming season tights that are bright and bold are set to be huge. Outfit combinations like LBDs and bright, bold tights and denim skirts, plain tees, and patterned tights are set to be big.

Step # 1: Exfoliate before You Begin Your Makeup
Never start with your makeup unless you have properly exfoliated your skin to make sure the foundation does not accumulate to places due to dead skin around the areas. Therefore, use a quality face mask for your skin and apply a toner after rinsing the mask off.

Step # 2: Apply a Sheer Coverage Foundation or BB/CC Cream
Take a small amount of any of your favourite sheer coverage foundation or BB cream and apply it evenly to your skin. Make sure you use a formula that has SPF in it so that you do not have to apply a sunscreen separately. Blend the cream with your fingers instead of any brush or blender to give it a natural finish.

Step # 3: Use a Concealer if you have Blemishes
If the scars and discolouration under your eyes are too visible, use a concealer with good coverage and tap it gently on those areas only. Do not rub it over the skin as the concealer would lose its purpose that way. Make sure the concealer you use for the blemishes is the same shade as your foundation.

Step # 4: Apply Loose Powder for Flawless Finish
Instead of using pressed powder that feels heavy on the skin, take any loose powder and use a brush to tap under your eyes and on the blemishes so that the concealer settles down without getting rubbed off. Sweep it over your face gently to make your foundation last longer.

Step # 5: Peachy Cream Blush for Some Hue
Take a natural peachy cream blush to add a little colour to your cheeks, instead of using powder blush that looks too visible and cakey on the skin. Apply it to the apples of the cheeks with your fingers and blend it well. You can use the same blush to add a little hue to your eye lids as well.

Step # 6: Use a Mascara for Much Natural Long Lashes
To add just the right amount of drama to the eyes, apply long lash mascara in a way that there are no clumps left behind. After applying it, use a mascara comb to separate the lashes and to remove any excess from the lashes.

Step # 7: Don’t Miss the Brows
Use a brow gel to fill the empty spaces between the brows and define the shape a little. Make sure you do not overdo it. The purpose to make the brows is to give them just a little definition and a cleaner look.

Step # 8: Nude Lipstick or Babylips as a Cherry on Top
Take any matte nude lipstick that would go best with your skin tone and apply it to your lips without overdrawing them. If you want something moisturising and natural, babylips or any pink lip balm can also be a good choice. I usually prefer Charlotte Tilbury nude lipstick as it really pulls the look together like anything.

Now, tie your hair into a high ponytail or keep them open and let your inner charisma shine through!

Well it was 3 days ago but still!

A couple of years ago I challenged myself to complete 30 things before I turned 30 and since it's just been my 27th birthday, it was time for an update. 

In the past year SO much has happened and I've been able to cross a few more things off my list! Although I'm super happy to have my first weekend away holiday with my boyfriend, my biggest achievement is definitely getting my own place or more specifically, getting a mortgage and buying a house!

I'm not sure how I'm going to get on with the rest of my list but I still have 3 more years so wish me luck!

An active life keeps your skin young in several ways especially when you combine such activities with healthy balanced diet containing nutrients that are skin-friendly. Active lifestyle does not mean indulging in excessively hard physical activities, even a good quality sleep can make your skin look healthier and younger. Active life can keep your skin younger in the following ways;

#1: 8 glasses of water a day
If you want your skin to appear healthier, glowing and younger, you need to stay hydrated most times. One of the reasons why your skin appears dry and awful most times is because the skin tissues are not hydrated. When you consume sufficient amount of fluids (most especially water) regularly, your body will flush out toxins from vital organs, including the skin, hence your skin will be able to shed older and unhealthy skin cells.
#2: Establish a daily skin care habit
There are lots of skin care products in the market but you need to choose the right one that will take care of your skin. Do not go for skin care products with excessive chemicals that will make your skin more sensitive or dry, rather you should indulge in active skin care habits such as regular exfoliation and the application of moisturiser and sunscreen , just before you step out in the morning.
Daily skin care habits also means, taking showers once or twice a day and making use of non-chemical soaps and body washes. Occasionally, you may want to add essential oils of some skin-friendly plants such as Aloe Vera, Eucalyptus and Peppermint.
Make sure you do away with antiseptic soap because they are known to remove the protective oily layer of the skin that helps to keep your skin soft and moist. Make sure your skin care products contain little or no alcoholic ingredients, however, they can contain moisturising ingredients.
#3: Establish regular sleep routine
Most people often regard sleep as a luxury and not a necessity and in so doing, they do more harm to their skin than good. You need at least 7 hours of sleep a day in order for your body to heal itself and rejuvenate vital organs such as the skin. If you get less than 8 hours of sleep in the night, make sure you compensate by having a regular 1-2 hours of naps in the afternoon. Make sure you compensate for all lost sleep hours on your off days or holiday seasons, this will help your body recover from prolonged lack of sleep, and stress.

#4: Perform some daily breathing exercises
Many people would wonder what breathing has to do with having a youthful skin. The wonderful thing about taking time to perform inhaling and exhaling activities is that they help to lower cortisol hormones, which are regarded as stress management hormones. Stress is one of the main enemies of youthful skin, hence the more you keep your stress levels under check, the more your skin will benefit.
#5: Indulge in low to moderate cardio activities
You don’t need a high intensity workout sessions to get your skin youthful, you can even indulge in fun activities such as hiking, walking in the park or riding your bicycle. Physical activities help your skin look more youthful by expanding your blood vessels and forcing the heart to pump more blood, as the heart pumps more blood, your skin pores expand, thus helping you to sweat and eliminate toxins from the upper and lower surfaces of the skin.
#6: Fight off stress through meditation
Aside from getting around 30 minutes of exercises on daily basis, holistic methods such as meditation, and visualization techniques have also been found to be helpful in maintaining a youthful skin. Meditation will not only help you manage stress more effectively, it keeps your brain healthy and when your brain functions optimally, your skin’s level of activity has been linked with several other health benefits, such as healthier skin .
#7: Schedule a periodic detox
You don’t need any herbal mixes or ingredients to detoxify your system, all you need is a collection of nutria-bullet recipes where you can extract 100% ingredients from fruits, veggies, and even nuts and seeds, which you can consume, to detoxify your body regularly.

As you can see, a proper night cream can really save your skin by nourishing it to the max and preventing wrinkles and fine lines. Just make sure to pick the proper one for your skin type, and you’re halfway there!

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Rose Blush Review

A couple of months ago now I went on a little shopping trip to Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and while I was there I popped into the Make-up Outlet store!

I managed to pick up a few items but my main reason for going in was to find a new lipstick for work. Yes, I probably have a handful at home I could already use BUT I wanted to find a shade that would match my all time favourite Rimmel lipstick from the Kate Moss Nude range.

In the end I decided on Rose Blush from Rimmel's Moisture Renew range as it seemed like a nice pinky nude shade that I could wear in the day or to work. I've brought other shades from the Moisture Renew collection and I've been really impressed with their glossy and long-lasting formula. It's almost like you can't believe it's a high street brand!

Now I wouldn't say this is a perfect match for my favourite but for £2.99, it's still a great lipstick and I'm hardly going to moan!

DIY | My New Under The Stairs Cupboard

It's been a while since I actually sat down and blogged and the main reason for that is because I've been bitten by the DIY bug! I've been so busy thinking of all the new and interesting things I can do to my house that I thought that maybe I should start writing about it all to share it with you guys!

My latest project was dealing with that awkward space under the stairs or as I call it, the "dumping ground". Back in the day it used to home our tumble dryer and fridge but since having my new kitchen fitted and therefore putting the appliances in there, this space has been empty.

After doing a bit of searching through Pinterest for inspiration, I came across the below picture and I knew I had to recreate it for my own house.

Now before I started this project I had looked into getting a professional in and have proper drawers etc fitted and they were asking for well over £1k! No thanks. My Pinterest alternative cost me under £100 with the majority of it being spent on this Ikea shelving unit and these Ikea wardrobe doors for the cupboard.

As you can see I'm decorating the rest of the hallway at the moment so I know it looks a bit crappy but cupboard-wise, I'm really happy!
