Guest Post | How to Look Your Best This Spring

Let’s leave all the darkness and coldness behind us because warmer months are finally approaching. It is time for all of us youngsters to awaken our wardrobes with the newest hues and the hottest garments, as well as some super cool patterns. After all fashion shows and fashion weeks, it is finally there: the ultimate list of millennial spring trends for 2017. Take notes.

Trend number one: your personal touch
Of course, high-quality garments are extremely important to us, but that doesn’t mean that we should have a name brand across our chest, right? Young people find individuality way more important than flashing names. And even though we tend to follow the newest trends, we also like to have our personal style as well.

Trend number two: budget-friendly fashion
It is time to refresh our dull closet with some cool dresses. Opt for slip dresses with cool prints such as polka-dot or flower (since flowers are apparently a huge trend this season). Are you feeling a little bit flirty? Great.

If you, on the other hand, aren’t into the so called: “girly items”, but enjoy wearing a dress, opt for T-shirt-like dresses which are keeping you covered and at the same time giving you that laid-back vibe while managing to stay feminine (it is a dress after all). You can opt for minimalistic and versatile ones such as black, white or grey, and spice them up with cool accessories, or you can opt for a wide range of prints. Whatever you choose, it will look good.

Trend number three: Dresses
Following trends can be devastating for our wallets, right? Luckily, millennials are happy to splurge on important items while sticking to their budget with others. Of course, investing a couple of hundred on something such as a high-quality coat or a pair of leather boots which are going to last for a lifetime almost is always a good idea. When it comes to things such as tees, dresses or other awesome stuff for women, you can shop at, since you will find everything you need a lot cheaper.

Trend number four: Layering
Yes, the warm weather is approaching, but it doesn’t mean that we should walk the streets in just our T-shirts. We need to be equipped with some cool jackets such as bombers (which are extremely popular among supermodels and you can literally find them in every store), denim jackets (which are the ultimate staples of any closet), kimonos (aka bed jackets with a cool and relaxed silhouette and stylish eye-catching prints), and of course faux leather jackets. When it comes to leather jackets you have two options: you can opt for biker-like ones (if you still can’t let go of 2016 bold trends), or trendy new designs that are lacking that biker vibe and are way more feminine and subtle.

Trend number five: Super Bright Colours
It is time to let go of all-black combos and turn to fire red, dirty pink, Kermit green, sunny yellow and royal blue. Now, our “basic” combinations are getting a little update with these bold colours. And oh, I almost forgot, you will probably have to wear sunglasses with these outfits since you will shine so bright, that you’ll almost go blind (wink).

Trend number six: Navel – Grazing Necklaces
Chokers are now a thing of the past. It is time to upgrade our accessory box with these babies. 2017 is going to be all about: the longer – the better. Many famous brands such as Prada and Givenchy, showed us how we can rock these long pendants. Another great thing about these necklaces is that they go great with your work attire. Spice up your sweater or your shirt and blazer with one of these, to achieve the glamorous, but yet effortlessly-looking chic.

Trend number 7: Jeans
A girl can never have too many pairs of jeans, right? This year is going to be all about soft denim (which is super pretty and super comfy, since it feels like cotton leggings), all kinds of blue jeans, high-waisted jeans, distressed denim of course, cropped jeans that elongate the leg when combined with a cute pair of heels, and embellished jeans (hello 2005!).
That would be it. Remember, it is important to stay updated on trends, but it is much more important to always be yourself. In the sea of selfsame people, be the one that stands out, because you are special.

How do you like these trends? Are you going to try them out? Let me know in the comments.
