Although I said I was going to document the whole process of organising my wedding, that didn't actually happen. As well as work, having a social life and looking after a new puppy, life was a bit hectic and finding time to sit down and blog just didn't really happen.

Regardless of it all, one month ago today I got married.

I will be posting another longer post regarding the whole day and how it played out but for now, I'll just leave you with my favourite picture from the whole day.

Life | Meet Lola

If you know me in real life or follow me on Instagram/Twitter, you will know that I'm kind of a cat person. Or what my close friends like to say, a crazy cat lady. And I'm okay with that.

The end of last year though, my whole world spun upside down when my partner suggested that we should buy a puppy. Now I have nothing against dogs but like I said above, I'm totally a cat person and I could just never imagine myself with a dog. I also want to point out as well that this wasn't a "on the whim" decision, it took a lot of "pro/con" discussions for a good few weeks.

We finally agreed to take the leap and a few weeks later, we became the proud owners of a 10 week old German Shephard. We decided on this breed as my partner's family had always had GS and they're well known for being not only loyal and protective but loving and kind and perfect family dogs.

10 months later and it's safe to say we made the right decision and I can't imagine life without our little furbaby.

Netflix | What Have I Been Watching?

While I've been on my mini break from blogging, I've had to find other ways to entertain myself and after hearing about all these new and interesting shows and documentaries on Netflix, I thought I would renew my subscription and see what all the fuss was about.

1. The Keepers

the keepers netflix

I'm a massive fan of murder mysteries and as soon as I finished watching the trailer for The Keepers, I knew I had to watch it. The documentary follows the unsolved murder of Catholic nun Cathy Cesnik who was a high school teacher in Baltimore. It also uncovers the horror and sexual abuse the students suffered and how even to this day, the culprit has still not been discovered.

Personally I was gripped from episode 1 and couldn't believe the stories and testimonies from former students of the school. I honestly recommend giving this series a go!

2. The Staircase
the staircase netflix

Another murder mystery documentary but this time following the case of novelist Michael Peterson who was accused of beating and pushing his wife Kathleen, down the stairs (hence the name of the show). The show follows the investigation and court cases where both prosecution and defence fought for years to push a verdict. Even after watching the whole 13 episode series and listening to all the evidence, I went from thinking he was innocent to guilty back to innocent multiple times. All in all, a good series!

3. Forensic Files

Carrying on with the theme of crime and mystery, next on my list is Forensic File. This was recommended to me by a friend and I am honestly addicted. The short half an hour shows cover various cases in America that had only been solved to the forensic evidence. I found this show to be really interesting and amazing how far science and technology has evolved that we are able to catch killers from tiny pieces of evidence like sand or glass fragments.

4. Evil Genius

Last crime pick!

Evil Genius was actually the first on my watch list and the only one to leave me feeling really disturbed when finished. This documentary follows the true story of a bank robbery-gone-wrong in Erie, PA. As the documentary poster above says, robber entered the bank with a bomb locked around his neck and spoiler - it was a real bomb! The series sets out to prove that there's more to the conspiracy and murder than what was previously thought. Definitely a must watch!

5. The Haunting of Hill House

Now I know I'm late to the party with this one and I know pretty much everyone and their mother has seen it but I LOVED The Haunting of Hill House. The creepy story line and the hidden ghosts in nearly every scene just had me hooked at every turn. For those who haven't seen or heard of THOHH, the story follows the Crane family moving into said Hill House and now as adults, the siblings are all forced to return to the house and deal with the ghosts of their past.
